I called NVC a bit ago. Still don't have a interview date. I hope I do by next Friday.

I am guessing your interview date was requested to USEM BD. As you know USEM BD will open on Sunday( they are close on friday & saturday), so you might get some useful info on Monday :thumbs: .

well as you can see by my timeline I got an RFE for the marriage certificate. They said it wasn't original at first, then the real truth came out that they misplaced it...... meaning they lost it. My wife decided it might be better for her to send the response this time and she fedex 5 originals from the philippines directly to the NVC. She mailed it off 11/09/2010 her time so it arrived to the NVC on the 11th which was not good because of Veterans holiday here in the states. So it couldn't get delivered becuase NVC was closed. It finally got delivered on the 12th so I have been checking it everday then at thanksgiving I stopped checking becuase I knew it might be awhile because of the holidays. I decided to check it yesterday and sure enough the message that everyone waits for to get out from the NVC appeared.

Make sure he files the appropiate I864 version if he lives in the same household. Make sure you send proof of his legal status in America. Send his citizenship certificate copy and passport copy (if he has a passport.) Otherwise you'll get a RFE.

I replied to your PM. Also, read here what happened to your case.

As all said, you need to wait few days to get a clear picture. Meanwhile, keep checking with DOS and NVC humansTM.

The case may go back to USCIS as well for whatever reasons. Just pray it should not go to the USCIS, because it is real hell.

Case back to NVC is fine. Though you may lose some time with NVC, NVC will wrap up the things quite faster unlike the USCIS.

I think you got my point. So, be patient and don't get worried. Keep calling DOS and NVC every day (may be 2 times a day) until the things are cleared up.

My update:-

I spoke with a NVC supervisor this morning and he told me that they haven't received any mail recently. I had sent my naturalization certificate on 11/19 to upgrade my category it's been 14 days today and they don't have it stil..........About the missing photographs, they re-checked it on 3 diff. department and didn't find them per supervisor. So sad...

I understand the frustration. Hang in there! When you talk to a nice NVC operator next time, just ask how long the NVC process will be delayed upgrading the petition from LPR to USC petitioner status compared to the regular NVC process from the USC petitioner.

I don't have that timeline. Probably, it might add bit delay as well, just my opinion.

I am so sorry to hear about this Malvika :crying: it is terrible I know but please don't give up hope call them often one in the morning once in the afternoon and once in the evening just before NVC closees. I always got nice Operators in afternoon and evening. Good luck and I will be praying for you.

What I think is once they receive my request with the copy of naturalization certificate they just verify it by my naturalization number in short of website once they verifies it they will just upgrage the category? You should receive a confirmation letter from NVC stating they have upgrade your case. We got one when my mom got her citizenship for my sister's petition.
