I was concerned mailing a copy of my Visa packet to my wife in China, so I sent my packet to a friend of my wife and I, to hand carry to her on his trip to China this month. Now that she has it, we can discuss each page. Best of Luck to you Loto. :thumbs:

Oh Loto...this is going to be an anxious week for you! You've been through this before but it doesn't make it easier. All your "#######" that didn't reach your wife in time hopefully will not really be needed for the interview...I just hope that it shows up eventually so that you'll at least have your original docs back!

You and I have been following each other's progress now and supporting each other every step of the way since our initial filings and we've both come a long way. You've prepared well - the paperwork AND your wife! :)

I wish you guys the best of luck and I'm sure you'll have much to celebrate come Thursday! You are indeed a man with a "lotopatience" and your "patience" will indeed have "paid off".

They will be go in clear 3-ring binder pouches. The 3 ring binder will be completely plastic.

I sent my wife an exact copy of everything that was sent to USCIS in a 3 ring binder - in the same order that they were mailed to USCIS. The NVC package (IV & AOS) were places in the side pocket of the binder. She will also take an original copy of all civil documents with her.

Maybe, in addition to the tons of documentation, we should also all include a vial of our blood for the Consular Officer...since that's exactly what this whole tedious, painful process has sucked out of us! :bonk:

Update from me :star:

My wife, daughter and MIL are flying to Chennai in another couple of hours time (Sunday). They got a guest house and car arranged there.

Medical - Monday & Tuesday (Lady applicants, please note that you should be out of your menstural period for medical :devil: )

Child's Indian OCI collection - Wednesday

Interview - Thursday

Flying back home - Saturday morning

And finally, my package has not reached on Saturday as well. So, they are proceeding without my ####### package. Thanks to Indian postal system :star:

That's a bit extreme don't you think? I mean we all knew it would take almost a year when it's all said and done. But I get your point. This whole process could be made a lot better. Thankfully, we're going to be done with this soon and we won't have to think about it anymore. Unless some of us get divorced and decide to marry internationally again.

Sorry if I sound a bit bitter, but considering this is the second petition I've had to file for my husband (then my fiance), you can surely understand my cynicism. For us, it's not been "almost a year", it's going on 3 years of dealing with the USCIS and the NVC and the Embassy and 2 congressmen and a senator. Yes, thankfully, we will be done with this soon, but this process has personally sucked a lot out of me and my husband.
