Yes, Good luck to all of us in different stages. Things are definitely moving forward in the NVC and hoping that the pace remains. Let us all say a group prayer for the following individuals who seem a little stuck.

Jon and Sol - Let us pray that he gets his SIF Monday or Tuesday of next week and I am confident he will. (F)

Malvika - Hope the irresponsible parrots at NVC find his misplaced picture before his photo packet arrives at the NVC on Monday. (F)

Indigo skies - Hope his CC is already through and he hears about it on Monday. (F)

Miami_boy - Hope M_B gets his SIF early next week. (F)

HoustonApollo - Wishing that the expedite goes through without any problem and they get the interview date in December. (F)

Please add your prayers for anyone who seems stuck or a bit down by the turn of events and take a moment to pray for them.

Thanks

I am glad lot of things happened this week in NVC :):D

Good luck to all who are still waiting for NVC SIF!

Good luck to all who did SIF and waiting for CC and Interview date!

Good luck to all for speedy Interview date as well!

Loto

Again, thanks Loto and everyone else.

my packets were as follows:

AOS packet:

bar-coded cover sheet

table of contents

Petitoner's I-864

Petitioner's tax transcripts for the years of: 2009, 2008, 2007

Joint sponsor's I-864

Joint sponsor's taxes & W2s for the years of: 2009, 2008, 2007

Joint sponsor's pay stubs

Joint sponsor's employment letter

Photocopy of joint sponsor's permanent resident card & passport

Photocopy of petitioner's passport, and birth certificate

Photocopy of beneficiary's passport

(case number written on upper right hand corner of every page)

IV packet:

bar coded cover sheet

table of contents

2 passport sized photograghs (case number, name & DOB of beneficiary on back)

DS – 230 Part 1 completed & signed

DS – 230 Part 2 completed & unsigned

Certified copy of beneficiary's birth certificate

Certified copy of beneficiary's police certificate

Certified copy of beneficiary's military record

Certified copy of beneficiary & petitioner's marriage certificate

Photocopy of beneficiary's passport biographical information

Set of photocopies for all of the above mentioned

I followed the VJ guides to a 't' for the forms. Joint sponsor is my step-mom who is a LPR. I'm in France right now with my husband (as a tourist). I chose to send the request because my husband's job contract ends Dec 31st and afterwards he will not have an income until the date of the interview, so I decided to send an email and give it a try. Also, he is enrolled at a uni. here to begin Jan 10th. I know these are irrelevant circumstances compared to others, I just wanted to see what they would say. I realize that I am by no means an expert on immigration. I had good intentions and didn't use and forceful language or anything to try to push them into expedite by any means. If this comes back to "nip me in the butt" with an AP or something of the sort, than that will be unfortunate, but so-be-it. I'm trying my best... :/

thanks.

my thoughts and prayers go out to everyone. we're all so stressed/anxious/nervous and we all deserve for this to be over quickly. i pray that everyone finishes soon without any problems and that we will all be able to move on and be with our loved ones without all of these worries. Sometimes I find it difficult to believe that these gov't depts have so much pull over our lives, but I guess thats just the way it is. For now I'm just keeping everyone in my thoughts and prayers. I'd be lost without you guys, thank you for being there.

The list looks good. Make sure to bring the ORIGINALS of all those certified copies at interview time.

In your case, the joint sponsor herself must overcome the poverty line of the entire household.

Also, make sure both sponsor and joint sponsor has signed (hand written) respective I-864.

Double verify the both I-864 and Ds-230 have completed entirely without any blanks (except in asset section of I-864).

Bring extensive secondary evidences of bona-fide marriage relation at the time of interview.

Good luck!

Don't worry about petitioner's change of address at this point of time.

But, it is important to update the beneficiary's change of address since Consulate has to send packet4 at the right address.

In regular path, NVC will email the interview appointment letter to the petitioner.

However, if you wish you can update the petitioner's Change of address over the phone with NVC, in order not to delay the process.

You need to file I-865 for any change in petitioner's address.

After POE, bebeficiary need to file AR-11 (by paper or online) for any change of address.

Loto

thanks loto, i am thinking the same, not worth it updating address. Let's see hopefully no rfe, so no need to deal with US correspondence.

Congrats Debby

As for the AVR - I too have been saying this DO NOT RELY ON THE AVR's TO GET ANY ACCURATE INFO - talk to a live person.

I have case complete but the AVRS still tells me that there is "No record of your case #". Imagine if I did rely on the AVRS & waited - where would I be now?

I would still be waiting.

Call & talk to a live person.

Debby

Many Congrats to you ! Weekend has been so cheerful for you and us as well :)

Thanks so much, Thekfc & Malvi....we are all on our way. I strongly feel that within the next 2 weeks, all of us that have been participating in this thread for the last 2 months will have SIFs/CCs/interview dates.

We all have much to be grateful for...the bulk of our visa journey is behind us and we are that much closer to being with our wives/husbands! Thumbs up to all of us for our diligence and patience during this trying period in our lives :)

Totally ! You guys are lucky that yours went through VSC instead of CSC. I had to get a senators help after almost 6 months and then the dumbos at USCIS sat up and approved my case.

Yes, USCIS is the crappiest place to be. Glad it is behind us and we are dealing with these caged parrots which are a lot more friendlier to work with :)

Loto, do we need to inform NVC of the beneficiary's address change? Does it really matter?

Won't we get interview letter in email and that will be enough to show up on the interview date? Do we have to have the packet4 from consulate?

It is recommened to notify the NVC up to date address.

In your case, NVC will email you the interview appointment letter which is good and you can provide it to your wife.

Don't worry much about packet4 in your case. I got packet4 after interview, last time.

Also, if any change of address is there, prepare another DS-230 to submit to the Consulate at the time of interview and notify the CO.

Loto

Agree with you, svenkatc

Normal time line, currently:

USCIS - 4 to 6 months

NVC - 1 to 1.5 months

Consulate - Depends (1 to 9 months and even more)

Oy! I need a quick response. I'm making two copies of everything to give to my wife on her interview. Do I need to make two copies of I130, AOS, and IV set? Or just one copies of these sets will do?

Needless to say, congrats to everyone who moved up another step on this stupid NVC ladder. Just few more weeks and this batch of people will be done with this shiats. I legitimately don't have a CC yet. AVRS has been true for me so far. I doubt it's wrong now. But anyways, there's nothing I can do until Monday.
