Got a question! Once NVC enters the AOS package into their system, Do they review it or do they wait and review it after the DS230 is also in their system?

Houston, it may not be a bad idea after all. NVC wouldn't send the docs to the consulate without confirming with the consulate. Please go back on this thread and read what LOTO had posted about the pluses and minuses with your expedite decision. He wanted faster processing too and didn't want an expedite. Am surprised people don't fully read the wealth of information on this forum and don't bother to run it by others before making a decision. Had you posted the fact that you were gonna write to SUE, people including LOTO would have given their 2 cents worth of information.

All your questions are valid ones and you need to wait for someone like LOTO to go through the interview and give his feedback on the expedite and again his might work and yours might end up in some issues or vice versa.

I don't think you messed up. Just make sure you take all your documentation and more with you at the time of interview. Doing "time pass" stuff with NVS sure has its repercussions.

..what are the chances of AP at the embassy stage? what type of "quick review" does the NVC do beforehand? If I do run into AP, might it be faster because Paris isnt a very busy embassy? What exactly happens during AP? (I'm sure theres a link about it somewhere on VJ?)

Think it was a bad idea to have asked for expedite? ..I wasn't expecting them to grant it, I just did it to "pass the time" and as a just in case ..made me feel like i was doing "something useful" for our case. Hope I didn't mess up :/

Oh, sorry to hear about your wife's ankle injury, Loto. My best friend had a sprain in his ankle recently and know how painful that can be. Ask her to keep an ice pack immediately and keep her leg raised (above the heart level).

Also ask her to take some anti-inflammatory medication immediately. She needs to rest a lot.

Ask her to Follow RICE as below

* Rest your ankle - do not walk on it.

* Ice - this helps to keep the swelling down. Use ice on the injury several times a day for 15-20 minutes (more than 20 minutes is not advised)

* Compressive bandages are needed to immobilize the ankle sprain and to support the injury.

* Elevate the ankle above your heart level for as much as you can for 48 hours.

The will review the AOS immediately. They don't wait to receive your DS 230. They will compete the review of AOS and send the check list letter asking for your DS 230.

hi everyone! happy saturday! hope your thanksgivings and black fridays were great! sorry i havent been on, but congrads to everyone who keep getting SIFs and are moving right along! those who are nervous and stressed, you'll get the good news youve been waiting for on monday im sure

okay now, i need your help..my AOS packet was entered into the system on the 22nd according to my last "live person" call on Wednesday. They received my IV packet on the 18th and I have assumed that it wasn't entered yet. However, on the 19th I sent an email to supervisor Sue explaining that my husband's contract at work ends on Dec 31st and he is enrolled to start univ classed here in the US on Jan 10th and although I am aware that these are not dire circumstances (medical, etc.) I was wondering if there was anything that could be done, etc. This morning I called to check the AVRS and they said that my case has been sent to the Paris embassy on the 26th .. so does that mean that it was expedited? The NVC couldn't possibly have reviewed my case that quickly and sent it regularly -- could they? What do I do next? (aside from calling the NVC/DOS/embassy on Monday to ask them about my case..) Help?

oh, one more thing, I tried to sign in this morning and got SIF .

Thanks, M-B and LadyD...and my AVR is STILL saying "we reviewed your package and found information missing. A letter was sent on 11/21 detailing blah, blah, blah".

If there is ONE thing I want to emphasize to anyone reading this post that is still waiting for an SIF, it's this:

DO NOT RELY ON THE AVR's TO GET ANY ACCURATE INFO.

These messages are ALL computer-input driven and if your reviewer does not enter the proper date sequence of your package reviews, these messages will NEVER be correct! Always CALL AND SPEAK TO A HUMAN before stressing out! Chances are, you're docs are ok and you just have to be....PATIENT!

I did "do my research" before I sent the email, I'm not ignorant and I'm aware that anything I do may have its repercussions. However, the approval was unexpected and I'm just a little nervous so I was looking for more insight and the likes. I HAVE fully read the thread from the beginning, however after 200+ pages it isn't easy to locate an exact post.
