>>>Also, highlight the NVC Case# and IV package RFE response outside the envelope.<<<

Is it safe to put NVC case # outside of envelope?

I believe it safe to put the case number on the outside of the envelope. This number is specific to your name kind of like a membership number. You should be fine. :)

I did M_B, they said the AVRS takes inputs from a computer (duh, we know that !) and not to rely on its message too much. She said it is still being reviewed and there is nothing missing so far.

Plan to call again later this evening.

svenkatc,

Thanks for the updates. Appreciated it.

This is so frustrating M_B, I am loosing my hope even for January interview now :(

If your AVR says checklist response received then it means they have scanned your DS-230 now.

I hope so Tabndan, Thank you!

malvika,

I wrote my case# out side envelope ( use marker) when i sent out both AOS & IV packet. I believed LOTO was one who told me to do so.

Bad news first (not an eternal pessimist!): My package to India has not arrived yet. Good news: I have been a Consultant with my current client here for the last 3 years. Due to the client policy, they normally don't give such a long period to the Consultants. My boss offered and forced me to join here in a permanent position. I politely denied it because of the pay check. So, for the last 2 weeks, I was actively searching for new contract and got 3 offers - Citigroup, Morgan Stanley and NY life. Today, I spoke to my boss that my last day is by the end of this year and I am moving out. He immediately talked to his boss and got back to me to continue some more time as Consultant here. I told him, ok, if you give me another full year. They are talking each other and going to override the policy now :star:

Malvika, I don't understand why it would not be safe to put your NVC case # on the envelope. It is not your SSN or credit card number that someone can misuse. what would anyone do knowing your case number ?

That makes sense guys ! But I was wondering what is the advantage of writing NVC case # outside the envelope where as eventually the envelope is to open and they will find the case number inside in bar-coded coversheet !

I just spoke with another operator and she gave me the exact same information. She told me that a request to review your package has been made and a supervisor will review it, but it takes 10-15 business days. ####### !

Anyway I will overnight the photographs today.

Great Loto, That's the way to make your employers sit up and listen to you. If things start breaking after you leave, your boss's a** will be on fire. Good that he is finally getting his act together to extend your contract.

Indian postal system ?? forget it. They will get to it after the Indian politico finishes unearthing the 2g scam. Keep putting pressure on the US based UPS like you are doing now and see where that goes. Praying that it reaches India soon.

Did you insure your packet ? I think it is a good idea to take insurance on these.

Congrats Loto, that's good for you ! BTW what kind of contract do you do?

Malvi,

It may make not sense to use USPS next day delivery since NVC is closed saturday, they will make an attempt to deliver on Saturday and leave them a note and redeliver again on Monday. If you are doing next day, make sure you to tick the option on the form that says something like ..do not deliver saturdays and holidays.

I had to go through that tension and don't want others to do the same. This is specially true for people who send stuff overnight on a Friday

That makes sense guys ! But I was wondering what is the advantage of writing NVC case # outside the envelope where as eventually the envelope is to open and they will find the case number inside in bar-coded coversheet !

oh, good Debby. Did your missing information date change in the AVRS msg like it it did on mine or it has been saying the same date (we mailed you ...blah..blah on ..so and so date). For me it changed from 11/22 to 11/24 for no reason and I am being told that the IV is still being processed.

I bet the holidays take its toll on the processing time, with people possibly on vacation and stuff.

I called today and spoke to an NVC operator who said the same thing. That I should not put stock in the AVR's and just to call them and check status.
