the problem with NVC operator is, they say they cannot tell if AOS or IV were entered, just that they received mail. Technically NVC received mailed on 11/8. So I'm hoping that them finally acknowledging the receipt means they were entered in the system. They cannot even tell me which package or documents were "received". :angry:

Operator do not have access what's inside the package. They only know that package received or not. Package entered or not. Package reviewed or not.

So we finally got our checklist letter...via EMAIL!! Our AVR said the checklist left the NVC on the 10th of November, we still have not received that but we get an email TODAY! *sigh*

DS-230 will be overnighted tomorrow.

Met in 2004 at a Dave Matthews Band concert, started dating November 2005, engaged February 2009 and married November 14, 2009. Together in the US on March 19th 2011

CR-1 journey

USCIS: (170 days)

2010-03-27: I-130 sent

2010-09-23: NOA2

NVC: (93 days)

2010-10-06: NVC Case Number assigned

2011-01-05: SIF and Case Completion!

2011-02-15: Medical in Toronto

got a stupid RFE.... :(

a problem with my birth certificate... guys, i need advice... i was born in germany, but mybirth certificate has been delivered by the french consular auhorities, cause i m french. apparently, that s not good enough for nvc, do you think i should get a birth certificate in german? (if it ever exists...)

Now that my husband is a citizen, we are preparting documents to apply to bring his parents here.

When Speaking to the operator about it yesterday he told me since we weren't missing info, just an incomplete document that there was no need to wait for the checklist. He said to go ahead and get it ready and send it in. SO I sent in the revised form yesterday (with my original AOS bar-coded sheet). Has anyone else done this? He said it wouldn't delay the processing past the normal delay for entering the info

Oh I forgot to mentioned that my AOS was reviewed and there are no errors. No RFE. Everything is perfect. So for people who are going to do their AOS package in future, following are the things I sent for AOS package.

  • Bar-coded
    cover sheet.
  • Cover letter.
  • Completed and signed form I-
    864EZ.
  • IRS tax transcripts for the year 2009, 2008 and 2007.
  • IRS tax account transcripts for the year 2009, 2008 and 2007.
  • Tax return for 2009 with W2, 1099DIV, 1099INT, etc.
  • Proof of employment letter.
  • Pay-stubs for the entire year
    2010.
  • Copy of the petitioner's U.S Passport.

Thank you. The pay tubs I try to give them my deposit in bank is that ok. I also dont have statement.

I'm thinking by 24-NOV-2010. It might get put off 'till next since you did get an RFE and there's Thanksgiving this week. In any case, you're only days away from SIF. Not weeks.

SIF is when you enter your information into the sign in page and you get a message like the one I attached in my previous reply.

From what I understand it technically doesn't mean anything, but historically has been a sign of pending completion of your case at NVC.

This is why many people jump for joy when they see the words "Sign in Failed" even though it's a type of failure.

There are much better versed VISA Journeymen here in this forum that may be able to add-to/correct what I just said.
