Timeline

I predict you'll get SIF by Monday. 29-NOV-2010. It would've been sooner but there's two days of Thanksgiving. That's why it's gonna take a bit longer. I predict I will get a SIF by 24-NOV-2010, barrin' any RFE.

I updated the NVC TRACKER for you.

I wish I could get earlier, but as you said there is two days Thanks Giving Holiday which is another wait-o-phoebia :D

Thanks for updating my timeline :)

Many congrats to Mehdi M for SIF !

To get a parcel airmailed from the UK to the US can take about 4-5 business days including Saturdays. however, I bought a guaranteed airmail service that was due to take 4 days. It took 12 business days, including a 4 day trip around New jersey, heading towards its destination...and then reversing, then finally arriving. The british and US postal service can suck at times. but it does eventuall arrive! Squeaky bum time when its your originals, I was in the same position as you - but they got there!

Richi,

Any update on your interview date?

Make sure your waiver (overstay) is ready at the interview time.

Getting duplicate is the last option, Tabitha (F)

Let me wait couple of weeks as IS told, hopefully it would arrive like IS' package reached.

Loto

Loto, you should allow more time to USPS to deliver your package.

I remember an instance when I had sent a package to Canada (you know I am in the border) it took a month to reach it's destination. I had also opened a researched but after a week it was delivered. So don't you worry my friend !

Thanks, IS. I'll keep you updated. I know, who do these holidays think they are? Thinking they can just show up and disturb our visas? I mean, cant they just hold off until we're all done so that we can enjoy them? I used to count down the days until holiday break, now I can't wait 'til it's over so the NVC can get back to work!

Richi,

Any update on your interview date?

Make sure your waiver (overstay) is ready at the interview time.

Loto

Hey loto - how aggravating is the post!! They should deliver in a timely fashion, none of this delay business!!:lol:

I was told on Wednesday that Packet (3) had been posted to me on Monday. Now, it has to travel 100 miles from the Embassy - I could have walked here quicker! Its not arrived yet!

I called the embassy and asked if I could email them my forms - the operator said NO!

However, I did email all my expedite documents to them, and the email response (last night) was the Packet 3 letter - and that once I'd gathered all of my documents, I can EMAIL them with the DS-230 and DS-2001.

Which I did today. So that was 3 or 4 days wasted thats to the phone operator. Anyone would think they were connected to the USCIS CSR's in some way!! :bonk::rofl:

So with all expedite docs and forms arriving in the possession of the Embassy this afternoon, Im hoping to have an interview date given to me perhaps on Monday or Tuesday. And, if they can allocate me a date within the next week or two, that would be great.

I called the Embassy tonight just to see if they'd assigned a date yet and the operator said not yet, but as its an expedited case - it will be very soon.

I asked about the chances of having to file the waiver or if my overstay can be overlooked because of the circumstances - the operator said he wasnt sure. Some have said yes I will need to file it, some have said maybe and the lawyer Steven Heller who Ive spoken with several times and has vast experience in that field, said theres a possibility I may not be required to.

Regardless of which, you're right Loto - Yes, my waiver will be ready at the time of the interview. If its required, Im hopeful it can be expedited too. Im not sure if I will need to re-expedite it with new letters, or if it will be automatically expedited. As far as I know, London's on a backlog with waivers right now, so its taking a good few months for a 'standard' waiver process.

I was hopeful of getting back to my wife before Christmas - it is do-able, but if it is at all, it could be very tight indeed.

Yes. I'm off the same opinion. At least for Thanksgivign I'll be off too. But for Veterans Day, only NVC was off. We weren't. Grr.

All holidays should be banned until at least February!

Were you a GC holder when you filed I-130 back in 2008? I think I have seen you during that time because I had filed I-130 at that time for my wife.

Loto

Yes loto, I have filed my I-130 back in 2008. Unfortunately, NVC had processed my case & i had PAID AOS FEE BILL too. But NVC had to returned my case back to USCIS for correct my priority date, Thats the reason I was waited for 2 months to get my case back to NVC for Visa processing. Finally, November 1st, 2010, i received IV FEE Bill via email. Now i made another mistake not to send the photohraph. How stupid I am...you can tell.
