Some anxious moments here...

I sent copies of I-130, AOS and IV package plus almost all my originals to my wife last Tue (11/09) by USPS express mail. I was told it will be delivered in 3 to 5 business days. It has not been delivered yet.

I opened a research ticket with USPS today and was told they would get back to me in another 1 to 5 business days :devil:

If they miss this package, I am totally screwed up with all my originals. But it is not a show stopper for my wife's interview.

Lesson learned - Important documents sent only by Fedex or DHL, never rely on USPS.

The second good news is I had my Naturalization Ceremony today. Yes, became US citizen :)

Dear Folks,

Can't wait to share two good news with you.

The first one is my AVR changed this morning and now it's saying "The NVC has received the checklist letter response on 11/18........" So it means my IV packet has been added to my case file yesterday :)

The second good news is I had my Naturalization Ceremony today. Yes, became US citizen :)

Question:-

How should I update my immigration status with NVC now? I guess I have to send them a copy of my naturalization certificate and a cover letter. I am currently on hold with NVC call. Trying to find the answer. In the mean time if any of us have any idea to share will be greatly appreciated !

@Loto (you're still Loto to me): I remember my fiasco with USPS. Paid for 3-5 business day service. But the package never arrived in five days. It was just some random items. So we gave up hope on the package. But lo and behold, it arrived in Bangaldesh on the 13th day. Since India and Bangladesh are right there, I'm sure it's the same timeline for delivery. Don't worry. It will arrive eventually. And those tickets created with USPS to further research are useless. I opened a ticket with them about the above package like 6 months ago. Still no response. Haha. No worries, mate.

This is my first bad experience with USPS. Based on your previous experience, it should be arrived next week some time, then. Quite relieving!

I didn't know the ticket opened is useless :D They took all the information (From, To, Phone# etc.). As per you, I don't care this ticket now :thumbs:

@Indigo- Yes man you did tell me that my IV will be scanned on Thursday and AVR will change on Friday and that's what happened. Now also tell me when I'll get the CC? then I will call you Omnicient ;) j/k

10/15/10 -NVC case # generated

10/18/10 -Called NVC and gave both beneficiary and petitioner email addresses

10/19/10 - Beneficiary emailed DS-3032 to NVC and also mailed the hard copy

10/26/10 - Called NVC and got the IIN

10/26/10 - Paid AOS fee $ 88.00

10/27/10 - AOS fee status shows "PAID"

10/27/10 - AOS package expressed mailed (next day delivery)

10/30/10 - IV fee bill generated and paid immediately

10/30/10 - Received AOS fee bill and DS-3032 kit and also received the confirmation of receipt of DS-3032

11/04/10 - IV fee bill status shown as "paid"

11/04/10 - Sent IV package (next day delivery)

That's not a long signature, BTW.

Copy entire thing in Notepad and re-paste it. So the hidden HTML tags will be eliminated.

To get a parcel airmailed from the UK to the US can take about 4-5 business days including Saturdays. however, I bought a guaranteed airmail service that was due to take 4 days. It took 12 business days, including a 4 day trip around New jersey, heading towards its destination...and then reversing, then finally arriving. The british and US postal service can suck at times. but it does eventuall arrive! Squeaky bum time when its your originals, I was in the same position as you - but they got there!

If it doesn't come in another week's time, package is lost.

My original naturalization certificate and birth certificate are the only issue items :crying:

All other craps (some originals has duplicate with me + NOA1, NOA2 and copies) are non-issue items.

Oh man :crying: that's not good :( I remember when I became a citizen I was told that we can request one duplicate copy of the naturalization certificate in a lifetime but it would probably take 14 days to get it and I know you are getting ready for your trip to India. I would still stop by the local immigration office and see if it can be rushed to you. Good luck I will keep the good thoughts going for you. Oh, I would call the post office daily more than once per day...

To get a parcel airmailed from the UK to the US can take about 4-5 business days including Saturdays. however, I bought a guaranteed airmail service that was due to take 4 days. It took 12 business days, including a 4 day trip around New jersey, heading towards its destination...and then reversing, then finally arriving. The british and US postal service can suck at times. but it does eventuall arrive! Squeaky bum time when its your originals, I was in the same position as you - but they got there!

Local Consulate mailed Packet4 to my address in India. Address was very correct. But, the local mail man delivered it to one of our relative's home who lives half a mile away from us. Then he hand-delivered it to our home. So, my Consulate signature must have been like this:

@Indigo- Yes man you did tell me that my IV will be scanned on Thursday and AVR will change on Friday and that's what happened. Now also tell me when I'll get the CC? then I will call you omnicient ;) j/k.

I predict you'll get SIF by Monday. 29-NOV-2010. It would've been sooner but there's two days of Thanksgiving. That's why it's gonna take a bit longer. I predict I will get a SIF by 24-NOV-2010, barrin' any RFE.

Oh man :crying: that's not good :( I remember when I became a citizen I was told that we can request one duplicate copy of the naturalization certificate in a lifetime but it would probably take 14 days to get it and I know you are getting ready for your trip to India. I would still stop by the local immigration office and see if it can be rushed to you. Good luck I will keep the good thoughts going for you. Oh, I would call the post office daily more than once per day...
