Called NVC again. I spoke to a very nice lady who said again to disregard the message about missing information. She said that all it meant was that they finished reviewing AOS pkg and didn't review IV pkg yet so system thinks it's missing.

hi, you got an RFE for having a J1 visa? my husband had a J1 visa back in 2007 to work for disney but he no longer has any of the paperwork from it .. do they definitely ask for this DS-2019 that you mentioned? i just sent in our ds-230 today and im so afraid of what theyre going to ask for :(

YES. my wife had been in the country twice 2004&2008 under a J1 visa and the NVC requested information regarding it. Here is the direct quote from our RFE letter

"______IMMIGRANT VISA APPLICATION:__________________________________

It appears that you have been in the United States as an Exchange Visitor. As

you know, certain participants in Exchange Visitor Programs are ineligible to

receive an immigrant visa until they have resided for two years in their country of

nationality (or country of last residence) following the completion of their stay in

the U.S. An annotation regarding the applicability of the two-year foreign

residence requirement to your case should appear in the lower-left hand corner

of your Exchange Visitor Certificate of Eligibility (Form IAP-66). Please submit a

copy of the form to this office. If you no longer possess the IAP-66, please

submit a statement containing the following information: 1) The name of the

organization sponsoring your Exchange Visitor Program, its address and the

number of the Program. 2) The date on which you obtained your Exchange

Visitor visa, or date you acquired such status after admission to the U.S. and the

date of termination of your Exchange Visitor status. 3) The country of which you

were a national and resident or, if not a national, a lawful permanent resident, at

the time you obtained your Exchange Visitor status in the U.S. 4) Your

occupation and the field of specialization in which you pursued your studies

during your Exchange Visitor Program. 5) Whether your participation in the

Program was financed in whole or in part by a U.S. Government agency, the

government of your country of nationality/last residence, or a travel grant, if any.

6) Whether you are a physician who participated in an Exchange Visitor Program

to receive a graduate medical education or training. No further action may be

taken on your immigrant visa application until you provide this office with a copy

of your Form IAP-66 or a statement containing the above information."

IAP-66 is the same thing as the DS-2019. No worries if you don't have the letter. As they said you can just submit a statement. Luckily we found both DS-2019 forms for her J1 Visa.

Good luck

They have not reviewed my IV pkg yet, Malvika. All the operator told me was that based on what she sees in the computer, my IV pkg was scanned in to the system on 11/15 and connected to my case. But not reviewed as yet.

Thank you so much for the information. We no longer have any of the documents, so I guess we'll just have to wait for the RFE and send in a statement. How discouraging. :/ Were you alerted about this by email or snail mail? what type of impact did it have on your case? My husband had the J1 to work at DisneyWorld Florida under an exchange program .. it was in the summer of 2007 .. I hope that it wont cause any problems?

Good luck to you as well!

Excellent. I am relieved for you!

It appears that the AVRS is updated at the same time every morning: my message has now changed to 'has received all documents, please allow 6-8 weeks for review.' (As you may or may not recall, yesterday AVRS said the IV was already in the system, but was awaiting AOS, and it was NVC operator Jasmine who told me both were in fact in the system.)

Oyez! Oyez! Oyez! All who have sent their IV recently and were discouraged to find out their IV wasn't scanned-in are admonished to draw near. This time for certain, my IV was scanned. It was scanned on 17-NOV-2010. NVC got the IV on 04-NOV-2010. So it took 13 days to scan the #######. This time I am abso-f**king-lutely sure that they did indeed scan the IV package. I'm getting the following AVRS's NVC-has-received-the-checklist-letter-response-on message now.

Yahooo  that is awesome news IS  It's gonna be a great day today

They have not reviewed my IV pkg yet, Malvika. All the operator told me was that based on what she sees in the computer, my IV pkg was scanned in to the system on 11/15 and connected to my case. But not reviewed as yet.

Debby & Malvika the AVR message is the same for me as well. I am keeping my fingers crossed for good reports with the IV packet for all of us.

Congrads to everyone who has their packets entered into the system or who is advancing in any other way!

Again, I have a question (sorry to be such a bother) I'm so frustrated with all of this -- it's supposed to be so simple and I feel like I'm messing it all up. :/

Anyway, if you look at the post above with kayo_michael, you'll see that my husband had a J1 visa in 2007 and I wrote it on the ds-230 but he no longer has any record of it. So I'm wondering if we should send the statement in now to prevent a probable RFE or if we should wait until its procesed and hope they don't ask for anything.

Suggestions? Please?
