No problem. With the London Embassy - you can email and make a general inquiry non case specific and it'll be answered in several days

OR

Ring the Embassy, they give you a specific number to put in the subject line of the email - for specific case info. Its answered within a day or two.

Learned this advice having been on the forum for 5 years on and off - it was advice given to me some years ago - and I didnt have any specific reason for a sooner interview, and it was duly obliged.

Whether it works with every consulate, I cannot say. But nothing ventured, nothing gained!

Yay. My AOS and IV was entered yesterday. Hopefully no RFEs. And I am actually hoping for a mid-January interview as I want to go to Palestine for my wife's interview and airfare is hellishly expensive around Christmas time.

There is no missing info. NVC hasn't actually reviewed your file. It just means now they have both AOS and IV package. Because of time mis-match, they think one is missing. This is a false RFE. What you need to do now is call NVC and talk to a person. For piece of mind. But they're just going to tell you that they received both things and allow 2 - 4 weeks to review and make decision. There's nothing else for you to do now except wait for SIF/CC. If unfortunately your receive an actual true RFE, then you'll have to deal with it. As of now, there's no RFE for you. It's a false RFE.

And congrats! We movin' along slowly but surely.

Correct...Malvika, read my post from yesterday about this false RFE....it's the same thing for you and IS.

FML. I called NVC and talked to a live person. She said NVC hasn't received my IV package yet. Basically she explained that NVC reviewed my AOS package and found that IV is missing. That's why I'm getting the missing-document RFE. So IV is still not tied to my case. FML. I got excited and now my hope and excitement has been crashed. FML. I feel like I want to friggin' cry now or punch the bloody wall into a pulp or something.

Or was this lady talking out of her #######? Please say that she was. But why would she? Grr. FML.

Update: According to the AVR, our RFE checklist was uploaded into the NVC System on Nov 16th.

hi, you got an RFE for having a J1 visa? my husband had a J1 visa back in 2007 to work for disney but he no longer has any of the paperwork from it .. do they definitely ask for this DS-2019 that you mentioned? i just sent in our ds-230 today and im so afraid of what theyre going to ask for

unfortunately no news yet . called today and checked the AVRS and talked to a "live person" both said the same thing -- AOS not in the system yet. Sent out the IV packet today. Nervous as heck. Expecting RFEs and ready to cry. Noticed I answered question 21 on the I864 wrong -- counted my husband as the beneficiary and as my spouse (didnt think it seemed right to put "0" in the box where it asks if youre married, since I am. also didnt think he seemed right to count him twice. but i did it anyway. oops.) -- and for the ds-230 where they ask you to write the times where the beneficiary has been to the US each time has been through the VWP, but he did have a J1 visa in '07 to work with Disney (he no longer has any trace of his paperwork) and im terrified theyre going to ask for something we dont have.

so in short my hair is turning gray very fast.

I know. I was so looking forward to going to get something to eat for lunch. Now I feel crappy. I told everyone the same also. They only merely finished reviewing our AOS package. Now IV is missing according to them. The lady said she can send a supervisor to look but only after 20 days expired since I sent the package. F'n hell. Now, I'm totally and utterly going to bid the December interview a reasusred goodbye. It ain't happening.

I tried to call the AVR's this morning on my brake but I was transfered to an operator...kinda weird and I dont know how it happend but I could not hold on the line because I did not have enough time and I had to get back to work so, I will have try to call them during lunch. I will update you all later...

I'm debating if I should. Now, though, there's a bit of gray area of what this nonsense operator said might be untruth. But if I call and the same thing is confirmed, then I'll just feel more worse. Ignorance is bliss. I shouldn't have called NVC today. I should've waited until Friday night just like I promised on Monday.

Looks like your prediction about batch processing is true. Looks like yesterday was the day like November 8th was.

I don't wish you an RFE, but what you did was something that has been discussed in so many threads and could possibly threw an RFE. Not sure how you missed that

I really didn't notice when there was discussion going on on this topic, but anyway I happened to answer it incorrectly. But in the total household member column I put the right number ie. "2" regardless of what I put above.
