It's not okay but the government thinks this is a privileged you are being given. Therefore, it can charge any amount it want and make the process indefinitely as long as it wants. If too many people complain, it can just shut down the whole operation. So we are left with two options. Basically a) put up with it, or b) put up with it. Hardly a option as you can see.

I wouldn't exactly call this a privilege, IS...it's part of family based immigrant visa categories, and are provided under the provisions of United States immigration law, specifically the Immigration and Nationality Act. Like any law in this country - with enough pressure and public support - it can change to be what the people want it to be.

Most people don't have the investment in immigration to see it change into a better thing. For example, us. Did we give a sh** about how long NVC takes or USCIS takes before when we didn't have to use their services? Nope. At least I didn't. And after my wife comes here, I probably won't have anything to do with them. If it was like IRS that I had to use every year, then I'd want it to change a lot to become better. But with NVC/USCIS, once we're done with it, we just don't care. It's the truth.

I feel the same way. For now, though, we're stuck and have to wait it out on their timetable.

I agree with you IS, I was the same like you didn't care about the issues with NVC or USCIS until I found myself in this boat... I will however do my best to be proactive and involved in making a difference with the future immigration laws. good.gif

@Debby I also agree with what you said about that "it weeds out the couples that are not truly committed"....or the one's that do it for the wrong reasons. In that perspective I think it's okay but unfortunately in the mean time the honest one's with true love have to suffer and hurry up and wait. headbonk.gif

I wish they had spent the stimulus in hiring and training more people to process all those immigration applications. The problem is that there are way too many applications to process. And yes not all are as organized as the ones from VJ visitors. I actually like the Canadian immigration system. Points based depending on the needs of economy with 12 - 24 month processing time. At least everyone gets a chance to immigrate.

Guys all valid points on my last rant. There are a number of valid reasons why this process is the way it is and we have accept that, but what i dont like is from numerous cases from immigration to say building construction ive heard and experienced. That when a government employee tells me opps we lost your paper work you have to resubmit or generate a RFE thats theres no accountability on there part, who suffers us which in turn delays our paper work process and thats not right. i am responsible to my clients as they are responsible to theirs and so on and the 8 to 5 mentality just irks me, spend a extra 5 mins and get this guys case to the next step instead of waiting till the next day. Ok im done i appreciate venting opportunity

When I filed I-130 for my wife on 2006. It was taking forever to approve. Thinking the broken immigration law will somehow change and it can bring little (at least) difference, I (actually there was a whole bunch of people from unitefamilies) sent emails to all my senators and representative letting them know about the current wait time for visa for spouses of permanent resident and urging them to support the on going immigration bill. Every year there are several immigrations related bills that are introduced in house but unfortunately those bills never passes through the judiciary committee in congress like Comprehensive Immigration Reform !

Almost all senators and representative whom I had sent emails responded but with their own definitions of immigration issues. Some were really showing commitments to change the current broken immigration law. But guess what? OBAMA Administration has much more problematic area than immigration to focus on at present.

This thing sometimes remind me one of the MJ's song

"All I wanna say is that they don't really care about us.........................."

Oyez! Oyez! Oyez! All who have mailed IV package to NVC recently are admonish to draw near. NVC has entered my IV yesterday. On 16-NOV-2010. As I predicted myself. NVC received my IV package on 04-NOV-2010. So it took exactly 14 days. So people who are on day 12, take heart. It's coming in 2 or so days. Meanwhile, keep the NVC TRACKER updated. I Just updated mine the this new info. NVC AVRS is now saying NVC reviewed my craps and found missing info. They've mailed a list. Haha. We know this is a FALSE RFE. So no worries just yet. Now I wait for SIF and CC.

@malvika: NVC received your IV on 05-NOV. Your IV will be in on or by 19-NOV-2010. You probably won't hear the FALSE RFE until Saturday morning.

No. I didn't speak to a live (i.e. appears high) person yet. Yesterday, I was getting the waiting-for-bio-page-from-lawyer message. Today, I'm getting the reviewed-everything-sending-rfe message. So I just extracted that NVC entered the IV on 16-NOV, which is very much in line with the prediction I got from NVC TRACKER.

Thanks for the well wishes. Right back at you, bruv. This thing isn't moving at the pace we'd like it to, but it's moving. I just hope I get a SIF and CC before Thanksgiving.

Oyez! Oyez! Oyez! I just called AVR and guess what? It has changed from last night. Now it's saying "NVC has reviewed packet or forms and found information missing or incomplete. NVC mailed a letter on Nov. 16, 10...blah blah....".

Indi,

So I guess my IV has also been entered yesterday but not sure about the missing info what really it is?

Hey, does it mean that they have already reviewed our IV package? Otherwise what does it mean "NVC has reviewed...."???
