NVC FILERS - FOR October - 2010

Just want to point out something very important that just happened so that no one panics when, and if, it happens to them.

As you know from reading my previous post, I called the NVC last night and was notified that my DS-230 is now under review. But the AVR last night was still saying "waiting for biographic pkg from petitioner".

So I called the AVR this morning to see if the message had changed. Imagine my surprise when the AVR message said "biographic pkg missing information; a letter has been generated on 11/15/10 detailing what is missing and will be mailed out". I freaked out and thought "Oh no! RFE!" So I waited to get a human on the phone and asked him what was going on and if he can tell me what's missing. He said that it's possible that nothing is missing. Because it technically hasn't been reviewed yet. It was only just entered into the system (and tied to my case) yesterday. He explained that if the documents (AOS and DS-230) are entered in at different times, the AVR message that is generated could be misleading. In other words, they received the DS-230 but haven't reviewed it yet, so the computer thinks that docs are missing and spits out that message. He said to give it a week or 2 and then when DS-230 docs are reviewed, the AVR message will change. It's all a timing issue.

I hope my experience helps people not to panic if they get this same message.

I heard AVR this morning. It says Your documents were received on Nov 15th. please 6-8 weeks for us to review. What does this mean? Is my AOS AND IV packet entered?

It seems like we don't hold chance 4 dec end interview.

Yeah I think that means NVC entered all your documents in the system.

In the mean time, could you put your timeline as your signature? THanks

Yes it means both the documents have been entered. I had the same message and then 9 days later, got the SIF

I knew today would have been different for me because when I called NVC - I got thru on the first try.

Our DS-230 package was entered into the system yesterday 11/15. :dance:

Looks like NVC does batch posting of documents. Many people got their IV posted yesterday like many of us got our AOS posted on 11/08.

Is anyone out here whose DS-230 got posted yesterday that was sent after Nov 04?

We knew this already and we call it a FALSE RFE. But seeing your progress gives me hope about my IV also. But I'm so frigging afraid to call now. Because I know with my luck, my IV hasn't been entered into the system. I'll call and find out this and feel like sh**. So I'm resisting the urge. Today is a holiday for us but I'm at work. My mood is already sad. I don't want to be more sad now. But I'm happy a little because of you.
