Why is the NVC number busy or engaged? Shouldn't we be able to get to the AVRS. I called just now. I was made to hear the deep-DEEP sound. God, I hate that so much. It reminds me of time before 1994. -shudders-

My husband said the same thing when we were getting busy signals, "when is the last time we heard a real busy signal?"

Just so I'm clear...the next step is for me (beneficiary) to email the DS-3032 form to NVC. At what point to we get the IIN? As well, no money is required for this step, correct?

I suggest you get a free google voice account, and use that 'auto-redial' feature. Saves much silliness, can 'point' the connection to anywhere.

I believe so...I just drafted up the DS-3032 email to be sent to them. I doubt we'll do anything by snail mail, except sending in the necessary forms.

Electronic Processing has 'no snail mail' hence 'no sending in necessary forms via snail mail' - all is via email.

If you wish to use Electronic Processing, you must OPT IN, send in an OPT IN EMAIL with the right DS-3032 file and properly formatted subject and ascii text body.

(or said another way)

OPT IN is different process, must use the full DS-3032 pdf file (dl link in that wiki page) -

and then follow the OPT IN EMAIL TEMPLATE in the NVC EP wiki page.

IF you follow the 'regular' DS-3032 email template - it's not the right one, for OPTING IN.

If you are contemplating using 'snail mail' for sending things in, yer not gonna be using 'NVC Electronic Processing'. IMO, you have a unique opportunity to 'choose something' today.

I think we are going the paper process with online payment. Another question for you...now that the NVC has our email addresses, do we wait til they send us the DS-3032 or do I send the DS-3032 email to them first declaring my husband as my agent?

Once you have NVC Case#, sometimes they will ask your both email ids. Else, provide both ids to them. Immediately, you can email the DS-3032 form data.

I suggest waiting until the AOS fee bill shows up -

as

when it does, it's a great indication that 'NVC IS READY TO PROCESS'.

IMO, sending it early, it might get lost in the bog/swamp of incoming emails. That's happened before.. Will it happen again? hard to forecast, as NVC 'blackbox operations' changes sometimes, no one knows about it until after the event.

Thanks John... No she is too frustrated right now JK She has some things to do at work (2 presentations) and she also need to get her physical in Manila befor the interview. So I think it will be best if I am not there to distract her if you know what I mean... I have put some comments together for her that she can choose to use during the interview with regards to my early retirement. I think the rest of it she can handle as its really not that complicated as we both live a simple life. You will be here in no time although this waiting game drives us nuts regardless of how long or short the wait.

Congrats for the interview date Tom! Your wife has a copy of CEMAR already, for the interview?
