Hey JD, be careful what you wish for ;) It took you this long to find out that your AOS was entered in to their system.

Don't rush to do anything without doing your home work...my 2 cents here :)

JD, please read all the posts in this page and the previous for all the details.

My push was:

1) Our USC child is waiting in India and she needs better medical care in the U.S

2) My wife wants to start her Ph.D program in the U.S soon

3) Also, there are H1N1 fever in my area and I fear my family would not be affected and want to bring them here soon

Loto

ROC Timeline:

2013-01-22 : I-751 packet sent by USPS express mail

2013-01-23 : Packet received at USCIS

2013-01-24 : I-751 Notice date

2013-01-24 : Check Cashed

2013-02-06 : FP notice received (FP date: 02/22/2013)

To all:

There are benefits and pitfalls in both the cases.

1) Consulate does final review and schedules interview

Benefit - You literally skips the time taken at NVC for review (savings could be few weeks to a month time)

Pitfall - If AOS or IV package has any issues, AP is for sure and it will be cleared in few weeks to months

2) NVC does final review and schedules interview

Benefit - Reduces the chances of AP at Consulate. But few people had AP even after NVC's successful completion

Pitfall - Basic loss of few weeks. If RFE comes another few more weeks time loss

Mine too, think we shot ourselves in the foot? lol

Richi,

Yours is little different. You have not paid any fee and not submitted any documents to NVC and bypassed the NVC totally.

In my case, I have completed everything except the "final review".

Can I please get some AOS help.

Just filled out the 864ez with CAPS all the way thru.

Questions 1. I want to clarify if I am answer questions 16 correctly. I had claimed my mother last two years on my taxes as my dependent.

so part a. = 2 (myself + spouse)

b. = 1 ( spouse)

c = N/A

d. = N/A

e. = 1 (Aunt)

So then f. = 4

Did I do this correct. ??

Question 2. Do I need to write N/A with a pen for all questions that do any apply to me. Such as A number and SS # four spouse.

Question 3. Yes I tried to be smart and did the w7 for 09, they kept asking for ID, and the taxes are still in process :( I went to IRS today, and they gave me 09 transcripts for extensions that shows that I have extension plus reported income for 09. I called NVC, and they said better to send it in with extension, and if they ask for 09 later thru RFE then I can send it in. I am going to take a chance and send in extension transcript for 09 along with W2 and paycheck stubs. So for question 19, should I check the box that says taxes from the last three years, and include 09 extension, 08 and 07 taxes, or not check it ? I will be attaching a letter with explanation.

Question 4. Directions say that I then need to scan in the form and email it in, Do I need to scan the tax transcripts and supporting documents also or just 864ez.

Looking forward to your reply - I really want to get it out tomorrow.

Thanks

You will qualify I-864 if you meet all the 3 below points.

1. You are the person who filed or is filing the Form I-130, Petition for Alien Relative, for a relative being sponsored;

2. The relative you are sponsoring is the only person listed on the Form I-130 petition;

3. The income you are using to qualify is based entirely on your salary or pension and is shown on one or more Forms W-2 provided by your employer(s) or former employer(s).

Since your mother is dependent, she must be included.

b will be 0 since you already added your wife in a. (I know this form is bit confusing)

e. Why do you want to add your aunt?

c and d, don't put N/A. Enter 0.

Question 2. Do I need to write N/A with a pen for all questions that do any apply to me. Such as A number and SS # four spouse.

YES

Question 3. Sounds good.

Question 4. Directions say that I then need to scan in the form and email it in, Do I need to scan the tax transcripts and supporting documents also or just 864ez.

That's not applicable to you. You need to mail the AOS package to NVC with the barcode cover sheet.

Looking forward to your reply - I really want to get it out tomorrow.

Thanks

Based on above details, I feel you should use I-864.

We are not eligible for electronic processing. I am actually not even doing CR1. My husband came with CR1 (DCF) in 2006 and now that he is a citizen we are applying for his parents(IR-5). I just come to this forum because you all (especially you) give great information .

If you read at the link carefully, you will see the email id NVCElectronic@state.gov.

These are for the people in 4 countries as of now - Canada, Mexico, China and one more.

Your beneficiary is from Pakistan and are not qualified for NVC Electronic Processing, same like my wife in India.

Follow the regular NVC processing steps.
