I wonder it took only 5 days to complete your case after they received your IV package and 10 days to forward your case to your embassy after case completion, but why are they taking this long to schedule an interview?

Loto I don't understand one thing. Shouldn't NVC first schedule interview with consulate and then forward the file to consulate office abroad? blink.gif

NVC is mystery, it does odd things :star:

When I called NVC today, I was told (sounded like the operator just woke up from sleep!) that my file was forwarded to the Consulate on Oct 28th :devil: But few other operators on last Friday told me that it was forwarded on Nov 5th! Which one I should believe?

So, I am holding the line with DOS in Washington DC now to get any details on this case, if they have any. Hope they will be useless too :star:

I had a reply from Consulate for my question, to contact them in another 2 to 3 business days for the package.

Here is the update from DOS.

Call DOS - Get a Human! 202-663-1225 Press 1 then 0 for a live operator. (This line is not bad at all, less waiting than NVC)

They asked the information about NVC Case#, Beneficiary and Petitioner details and digged the information.

They "clearly" confirmed that the file was sent on Nov 5th to the Consulate and watch out the emails/mails from NVC :star:

I spoke to an live operator today. He was very courteous.

He told that on the 8th "something" was inputted & within 2 weeks I should be "getting an update" but he couldn't tell if it was the AOS or IV package. Now that there is activity on our case - hopefully we will hear something soon.

I am 99.9% sure that it is your AOS package that they entered on 11/08 because my AOS was also delivered on 10/28 and got entered on 11/08.

My NVC Journey

10/12/10 –NVC received the file

10/15/10 -NVC case # generated

10/18/10 -Called NVC and gave both beneficiary and petitioner email addresses

10/19/10 - Beneficiary emailed DS-3032 to NVC and also mailed the hard copy

10/26/10 - Called NVC and got the IIN

10/26/10 - Paid AOS fee $ 88.00

10/27/10 - AOS fee status shows "PAID"

10/27/10 - AOS package expressed mailed (next day delivery)

10/30/10 - IV fee bill generated and paid immediately

10/30/10 - Received AOS fee bill and DS-3032 kit and also received the confirmation of receipt of DS-3032

11/04/10 - IV fee bill status shown as "paid"

11/04/10 - Sent IV package (next day delivery)

11/06/10 - Received IV instructions packet (packet 3) via email

11/08/10 - AOS entered into NVC system

11/16/10 - AOS was reviewed and OK'ed

Loto, Did you try asking for a supervisor or the Sup Sue, the Mother Superior?

I remember mentioning Sue to an operator during one of my calls and could see the fear that Sue's name generated..she was like..you don't have to contact her..that won't be necessary...blah..blah..blah

I had sent couple of emails to Sue after the package was delivered to speed up the review process, close the case and forward it to the Consulate. Then what happened is NVC entered all my packages into their system and did just a preliminary review, case closed and forwarded to the Consulate after talking to the Consulate. Also, advised me that it is just a basic review and the Consulate will finalize the packages and will schedule the interview.

So, now my only option is to get the interview date from the Consulate and the beneficiary will have Packet4 from the Consulate.

The package is already left on Nov 5th from NVC. So, the NVC chapter is closed now.

DOS calls are NOT the substitute of NVC. DOS will answer you the post NVC operations as well as the AP issues after the interview.

You are right. NVC is the one schedules the interview, provided if it is normal path.

For expedite path, it is the Consulate who schedules the interview. My case fell under expedited path.

Is it because you pushed thru' Sue, your case got reviewed quickly and sent to embassy for interview or is it that the consulate (chennai here) will always decide the date of interview instead of NVC ?

I understand that DOS comes in to picture after the packet is mailed to the foreign embassy.
