I freaking got a RFE for the stupidest thing! On the Ds-230 my wife listed ALL THE PLACES she lived since she was 16, when all they want is the city. They sent it back despite still getting all the info, it was just additional information also given.

Sorry Matt...thats just shitty. I just looked at my DS-260 (online immigrant visa) and it actually asks for my previous street address along with the city. I wonder why it would be different on almost the exact same form.

@MattyDil, I am sorry to hear that ;) thats a bummer...My husband almost made the same mistake on our DS-230 but then I realised that it was only asking for the city and we corrected it...You should call them and see if a corrected one can be emailed of faxed faxed to them!!! It's worth the try.

Holly cow, One operator told me yesterday not to call today, but to call on Monday. Out of curiosity, I picked up the phone and dialed NVC#. Less than 7 tries I got the line. Since I wanted to pee badly (bladder was full!), I hit option 1 - Haiti line :-) Immediately an operator connected me. After basic data feed, he didn't ask me "how can I help you, Sir". Instead, he told me your case is forwarded to Chennai (Madras) Consulate and you will hear the interview date soon. I asked when was that forward. Reply was today!

I checked DHL site and it is left NVC building and Chennai will get it next Thursday :dance:

Now I can officially declare that phase1 (USCIS) and phase2 (NVC) are completed. (Remember, still waiting for the interview date! I think it will be known in a week or so!)

The last phase (phase3) is with the Consulate.

So, who are still with NVC, it is a matter of few weeks after you mailed out your AOS and IV packages :yes:

Just the thought of sending original civil document to a govt agency freaks me out... if they lose it, then all the burden is on us.

If you check the NVC website, it says originals OR certified copies. I don't understand why you would get an RFE for that. See this link:

I will book the ticket as soon as I hear the interview date. Otherwise, tickets will be unavailable in Dec. If it were in off-peak season, I would have bought the tickets after the interview only.
