GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR, so bummed that some ppl get lucky, some just dont. At USCIS or NVC that's the way things go. I told my hubby to call last night for case #, but he didnt inform me so far about updates, probably because there arent any. But would have loved to know anyway whatever the situation would have been... Right now I'm like on hot charkle... not knowing what is happening. PFFFFFFFF!! :(

My request to expedite IV processing for my spouse got accepted.. Yahoooo  . My wife is in her 6th month of pregnancy and is advised against air travel after end of December.

NVC was very quick in forwarding the request to US consulate in Chennai, India; the consulate responded within 3 days.

Meanwhile, I followed up with NVC and paid AOS and IV fee online. NVC does not allow me now to login using NVC case # and IIN.

Anxiously waiting for December interview

This is great news! Did they email you with the news that they accepted the expedite request or did you have to call them? Also, did you email your request to NVCInquiry@state.gov or call it in? I am still waiting to hear back whether or not they requested our expedite request.

Thanks!

Thanks, folks. Off to Office Max to pick up a Cosco 2000 Plus (thanks, IS).
You're welcome. You may not find the exact model. But you'll find something very similar to what posted. It'll run you about $25 or so. But I'm sure you won't get this message in time as you left. Good luck.

I'm going to stop by Office Max today also. I need to pick up some clear plastic pouches so I can put the pictures in them. I'm going to staple the pouches to a sheet of paper. I also need clear peel-able labels to write case number on original documents. I don't care about the PCC. I can write directly on it. I only care about the marriage certificate and birth certificate. I know both of which can be re-generated but they won't ever be the very first, very original one. Sentimental values and sh**s, ya know!

First all, the 4-6 weeks is a standard corporate line. Don't even bother listening to that. You got your NOA2 on 10/26. You need to wait at least 8 days. Then start calling NVC. Don't get a person. Just use the AVRS and your USCIS case number. It will keep saying there's no record of your case until NVC gives you a NVC case number. When you have that number, then you get a human on NVC. Otherwise, it's a waste of time. Please take a look at my timeline and get a sense of how long each things take.

I have already paid both fees (AOS & IV) & mailed the packages out, we received 9 different emails from NVC BUT I still get the "there's no record of your case #" message.

If I didn't get my case # from a live person & started the "process" - I would still be waiting. So, sometime it is better to get your case # from a live person - you just never know how long you will be waiting to get the case # from the AVRS.

Perhaps you are not using a soft leaded pencil. Check to see if its a # 2 lead. If its light but you can read it then they can. Mine was also light but readable.

Why can't we use a pen to write this info? I can write very gingerly without embossing the other side. Alternatively, I can use ink-jet printers to write this info directly on the back of the photo. Is there a rule that says we cannot use a pen or printer on the back of the photo. Why do they care about the back of the photo.

By the way...today is our 5 month wedding anniversary.

5 months of not being together...I don't know whether to laugh or cry....this whole process sucks...there's got to be a better way...

I agree 100%. Who in there right mind would want to go this route? Perhaps that is why millions keep tried alternative routes.Seems to be working for them or so many would not be trying it. Once they are here they get all the benifits and none of the restrictions. Then they wait for amnesty while they are where they want to be. This current system is broke and in my view does little to protect USC from anything.

Are you suggesting that many married couple chose the illegel immigration route? Bahaha! Most illegel immigrants are young, able-bodied male. Not spouses of USC. Secondly, please tell me what sort of benefits do illegel immigrants get? And what sort of restrictions don't they not get placed on them? Perhpas this is an OT topic. Feel free to not answer.

Ok, everything all set to go at last. Final question: since I am sending both AOS and IV in one Express Mail packet (unless anyone thinks this is a bad idea - Loto?) should I send to "National Visa Center Attn. CMR AOS" as on the AOS cover page, or to "National Visa Center Attn. CMR" as on the IV cover page? I'm thinking the latter?

Thanks,

Jon

Jon, I sent AOS and IV as 2 separate packages. So, I can't comment on it :star:

It may be a good idea to highlight outside the envelope - "NVC Case#, then AOS and IV packages are included" - something like that.
