Where about is this info on the IV email? I received the IV email last night. I sort of just ignored it knowing what I need to do. I'm gonna read it when I go home. If NVC email says it, I'll do it. If it doesn't, then I'm going to avoid it. But I kind of feel torn now. How am I going to write on my original marriage certificate, birth certificate, etc. I might have to get remove able stickers or something. Just when I thought I had gotten past all the caveat, NVC throws me another one.

I don't see it on my IV email. :( Can you do a screen cap of yours?

Dear Sir/Madam:

The National Visa Center (NVC) has received all required fee payments for the immigrant visa case of

<Wife's name>. Each applicant must now complete an Application for Immigrant

Visa and Alien Registration. Please go to the Department of State website at

www.ImmigrantVisas.state.gov and follow the instructions displayed.

Pay particular attention to the requirements for police certificates. In some cases specific forms must be

used to request and obtain required police certificate(s).

IMPORTANT:

E-Mail Processing may be either mandatory or chosen by the principal applicant for this case. If E-Mail

Processing does apply to this case the required form(s) and documents must be scanned and submitted

by e-mail to NVCElectronic@state.gov.

If E-Mail Processing does not apply you must return the enclosed barcode cover sheet with the required

form(s) and civil documents to:

National Visa Center

ATTN: CMR

31 Rochester Avenue, Suite 100

Portsmouth, NH 03801-2914

To avoid processing delays when returning documents to the National Visa Center:

upper right-hand corner of each page of every document.

• DO NOT send documents for ANY OTHER CASES attached to an e-mail.

• DO NOT send information for ANY OTHER CASES in the same envelope unless the NVC's

letter is attached to the front of each case's documents

Sincerely,

Director

Indigo,

If the concern is writing on originals the case number, I suggest you write it in pencil so you can erase it later.

Remember the story about the Russian astronauts from your childhood days ? :P

My husband has a similar situation and has to provide two Police Certificates from the two countries he lived in. The first one is Romania where he lived past the age of 16 and Greece where he lived for 15 years.

So, YES both Police Certificates are needed from Jamaica and the current county he lives in...sorry I know this delays your process a bit

Thank you very much. I figured he would have to get both. Hopefully we can get it done by the end of the week or early next week.

I see the requirement now about writing the case number on upper right-hand corner. I'll use a pencil for all the original document. Or I'll get those removable stickers. Thank God, most of these certificates are printed on heavy-duty papers. Here's my IV package list once more. See what's missing, if you think something's missing.

Original or certified copies:

  1. Bar-coded cover sheet
  2. Cover letter
  3. Two Passport-sized photographs of the beneficiary
  4. Completed and signed form DS-230 Part 1, by the beneficiary
  5. Completed and unsigned form DS-230 Part 2, by the beneficiary
  6. Photocopy of the biographic data page of the beneficiary's Bangladeshi passport
  7. Original marriage certificate of the beneficiary and the petitioner
  8. Original birth certificate of the beneficiary
  9. Original police certificates of the beneficiary

Copies:

  1. Photocopy of the biographic data page of the beneficiary's passport
  2. Photocopy of the marriage certificate of the beneficiary and the petitioner
  3. Photocopy of the birth certificate of the beneficiary
  4. Photocopy of the police certificates (Police Station) of the beneficiary

I'm going to stack these in the exact same order as they appear above.

My wife has got a new passport. It has absolutely nothing except her adorable picture and biographic info. Should I send all pages (front to back) or just biographic page only (as I listed above?)

IS, you need to stop getting paranoid for little things. I understand that little things matter with NVC, but try to stay cool.

My wife has a brand new passport too and I plan to send just the biographic page. What is the point in sending blank pages ? may be to satisfy your paranoia ?

Thanks

Lolscape. Me paranoid? I'm a big proponent of sending in the absolute minimum amount of things necessary. I've gotten beef for saying we should send only the basic requirements. Word like front-load give me allergies. Then it's settled (unless Loto says otherwise,) I'm only sending the biographic page of her passport and its copy. Edited by IndigoSkies

I (the beneficiary) also had a new passport and sent in a photocopy of just the biographic page. A far as noting the case numbers I used small post-it-notes on the originals.

Good luck.

As I sit here waiting for my IV payment to clear (christ, it's always something; initiated it 29-OCT-2010 00:14, and STILL waiting - the AOS was cleared in 20 hours), ok, so I got the message loud and clear about writing the NVC# on all documents - does that include originals of her NBI, birth certificate, our marriage license, etc? Just a little leery of doing that without the go-ahead.

I wrote mine on the Originals but I used a post-it type tape that could be removed without damage to the document.

My wife's going to slaughter me when she finds out how many shots she has to take. I never bothered to ask her if she still has her vaccination record. I think she does, I need to get a copy of that so i can compare it with the current requirement and see how many she's missing. i can't find a list of required vaccine for Bangladeshi children as required by Bangladesh. She has a lot of test this week so I can't bother her too much. But if anyone knows the required vaccines in Bangladesh, I'd appreciate it. Oh, and not the requirement by US. I already have that.

Loto, glace over my IV package and give your blessing. I'm sure I'm going to ask it again on Wednesday just before sending it.

Not clear what you're asking. Why do you care what Bangladesh shot requirements are. Maybe I misread your post. You might be able to find what you want here. For Children also. I think they discuss travel in both directions but I didnt look that hard.

Yeah. I didn't explain what I wanted clearly. Basically if I knew what vaccines are given to Bangladeshi children, I can compare it to the CDC's requirement. Then I can tell how many shots my wife needs if she needs any shots. For example, I know Bangladesh requires everyone to get polio vaccine. CDC requires it also. Therefore, I know my wife has polio shot and doesn't need it. Same for MMR, Meningitis, and Hep B. I hope it make sense now.

My request to expedite IV processing for my spouse got accepted.. Yahoooo  . My wife is in her 6th month of pregnancy and is advised against air travel after end of December.

NVC was very quick in forwarding the request to US consulate in Chennai, India; the consulate responded within 3 days.

Meanwhile, I followed up with NVC and paid AOS and IV fee online. NVC does not allow me now to login using NVC case # and IIN.

Anxiously waiting for December interview

Congratulations!!! I hope it all goes smoothly for you!
