NVC FILERS - FOR October - 2010

Hi guys! A quick update- we had our NVC case num assigned on 21st Oct and today we finally got e-mails and my husband paid the AOS fee. The IV fee bill is not yet genarated so I'm going to wait till Thursday and if they haven't generated it by then I will e-mail the scanned DS-3032 (since that's what Loto suggested and see what happens.

I do have a question though (I might have asked that before.. ) regarding my civil documents. I obtained everything that is required, paid for Apostilles for each doc and translated everything myself. Nowhere on the NVC's web page did I see a requirement that the documents must be translated in one of those specialised offices so I figured just notarized copies/originals with an apostille + a translation in English should be good enough. I'm ready to ship everything but I also don't want to get a RFE.... what you guys think?

What (MAYBE) can take a few $$ off the price is to take the civil dox to a translator (the ones with the apostilles) and get them ONLY translated and then when u have them ready - got to the Ministry of foreign affairs (do zala Universiada) and pay for a legalization urself (you know, you buy the country tax stamps).. it will probly take 20lv off the overall price... Too much hassle if you ask me..

Unless you are an officially and legally authorized to translate (with a notary declaration) - your translations aren't worth a dime...

Got it I already have the authorizations from the Min. of Foreign affairs, I actually have all the documents translated in an agency but this one but I didn't want to wait another 5 days until I have it teanslated and THEN to ship it But on the background of all this waiting 5 days won't make much of a difference anyways, huh.

Well, ONLY a translation of a doc can be done in 24hr and only costs 13-15lv. But then you have to pay a crazy amount to get the stamps from the Ministry ready in one day.. last time I checked it was around 80lv for a day..

Do we really need to write NVC case number on upper right cornor of DS-230 form and any other documents? Doesn't barcoded cover sheet takes care of all the documents enclosed with it? confused !

Do you need to poop everyday? No. Not really. If you can hold it in, you're fine. But in the long run,it's probably better to poop once a day at least. I hope this answers your question.

Oh come now. I've been working since 03:00. It's 14:11 now. My back is stiff as hell. I haven't had a break since I started. I keep thinking I can just leave just as soon as I debug this script or just as soon as that transaction complets. But no. One scripts calls on an thousand other nameless scripts which you have to debug. Some jerk didn't think it was necessary to name them properly or atleast write some sensible comments. Then you have the DBA barking at me for running complex transactions. Well, Sandeep-ji, I can't do my bloody work without running these bloody queries. It's not my fault you can't buy more servers. God! Maybe I need a poop break!

Edit: That was rather theraputic. I guess, this thread, in addition to being my NVC thread, is also my rant 'n' rave thread.

As I sit here waiting for my IV payment to clear (christ, it's always something; initiated it 29-OCT-2010 00:14, and STILL waiting - the AOS was cleared in 20 hours), ok, so I got the message loud and clear about writing the NVC# on all documents - does that include originals of her NBI, birth certificate, our marriage license, etc? Just a little leery of doing that without the go-ahead.

I didn't write the case numbers on the originals. just on the DS-230 form and the photocopies.
