Our case arrived at NVC on October 25th and the AOS Fee is still not invoiced online.... How long does it typically take for one to receive the email from NVC once they receive the case?

Thanks!

Hey, mate! Everything's well. My mother-in-law was ill last few days. So that took procedence over mailing the document. But it was mailed eventually. I should get it tomorrow (Nov 2.) I have everything else ready, including all the pages that doesn't require my wife singature (DS230 page 2 is the only thing that requires her signature.) Hopefully when I go home tomorrow after work, I'll have the package. Then I'll hit the gym for couple of hours and shower and finish up this documents over a nice tall cup of hot choco. Then I'll be ready to mail the IV package to NVC on Wednesday (Nov 3.) Hopefully AOS package will be scanned and tied to my case by then. It's been 4 days since NVC has my AOS package.

Indigo, sorry to hear about your mother in-law. Hopefully she is better now.

Be careful with your hot choco, you don't wanna spill it over your documents hehe

Dont worry about it. It will take what ever time it takes. What ever we think is not material.

Focus on what you have control over. Make sure that when you send/submit your documents you provide them with complete documentation of your case. Case number, Petitioners name Date of Birth, Bennifiarys Name and Date of Birth. Also have the Case Number on the upper right hand corner of the documents for each page you send. I would also include a letter explaining what you have sent in and why you are doing so.

Hi guys! A quick update- we had our NVC case num assigned on 21st Oct and today we finally got e-mails and my husband paid the AOS fee. The IV fee bill is not yet genarated so I'm going to wait till Thursday and if they haven't generated it by then I will e-mail the scanned DS-3032 (since that's what Loto suggested :) and see what happens.

I do have a question though (I might have asked that before.. :bonk: ) regarding my civil documents. I obtained everything that is required, paid for Apostilles for each doc and translated everything myself. Nowhere on the NVC's web page did I see a requirement that the documents must be translated in one of those specialised offices so I figured just notarized copies/originals with an apostille + a translation in English should be good enough. I'm ready to ship everything but I also don't want to get a RFE.... what you guys think?

Don't know what Apostilles are. I am not sure on this because translations were not an issue for us. I would guess that translations would need to be from a reputable organization which would ensure accuracy. If they accepted translations from anyone then they would not have much confidence that the translations are accurate. Just my view.

Yes you are. What have you been Reading? This has been the practice of everyone that I know of. Of course you dont need to put it on the Cover sheet. THe purpose for this in my view is in the event something was misplaced or separated they would be able to get it back to the package it belonged in. They have many packages they are dealing with and many are similar...

I see your point and it makes sence.

Appostile is a legal document that is accepted in.... sixty-something countries or so. This was a decision made on a conference in Hague in 1961, if I'm not mistaking. An apostille basically proves the authencity of a document and in my case it's issued in Bulgarian and in English.
