I paid my IV fee bill around 11:00 ish this morning. Hoping to have it cleared by Monday or Tuesday. I will also try to get NVC live operator on Monday. Sure I will eat an extra samosa for you Indigo

Anyone have the same problem as me? When i try to use a Mac with Safari to log into NVC fee webpage it wont let me log in however, if use internet explorer i can can get in. Also i still have not been invoiced for AOS or package IV

Tax transcript question - I know this is a rerun, but I am confused. I have both types of transcripts here - Tax Return Transcript (long) and Account Transcript (short). I thought it was the Tax Return Transcript that was the right one to send, but I poured over it, and unlike with the Account Transcript, it does not have a line for 'Adjusted Gross Income' anywhere. Soooo...which do I send? Or both?

Most likely, it is a problem with their website, as in, whoever implemented it didn't test it on Safari. I've got in using Firefox 3.6.11 on Windblows with no problem. Just suffer through internet exploder when dealing with the invoice page.

I had the same problem using Google Chrome... apparently NVC website works better when using Internet Explorer.

Most government websites recommend that you use Internet Explorer. Download and install the latest version. You will have no problem paying bill using IE. I use Google Chrome. I can log in to NVC pay portal and do everything. But when I was paying the invoices, I had to use IE.

I sent both. Someone sent the tax return transcripts (doesn't have adjusted gross income) and it was fine. They got their approval just as well. Since I had both, I sent both. You can do the same. Doesn't hurt.

I'm preparing to send in my AOS and IV packages for my wife on Monday, and I had

a couple of questions I'm hoping one of you might be able to help me out with.

First, the easier one. I had no income in 2009, and my parents are each being

cosponsors. No problem with the income guidelines, but I'm confused as to what

figures to use on the forms as they are joint filers. On the i864, it asks me

to list my cosponsors and each of their current incomes, then to total them

(question 24). What do I do? Divide their joint income evenly by two?

Similarly, but not identically, on the i864a, it asks for my sponsors 'current

individual income' (question 10). What goes there? Do I divide in two for

their joint return for each of their i864a?

Ok, second question. Even though it won't be based on my income, I need to send

i a copy of my 2009 taxes. Problem: I initially filed a zero return

electronically, and I filed as 'single' even though we were married because it

would not accept it without an ITIN or SSN for my wife. A few weeks ago I

discovered this is not ok, and filed an amended return, married filing

seperately, by mail writing in "N.R.A. no SSN/ITIN required," using a 1040A and

1040X, still zero income. As of yet, my amended return is not on record. My

question is, what do I send to the NVC? I'm kind of worried that providing to

much information (the old return, the 1040X) will cause some bureaucrat to stir

from their slumber and cause some problems. What should I send them and not

send them?

Yes, staple together and on the top right corner write your case number on each page except the cover page with bar code on it.

That is what I did too. I stapled them together but instead of writing the case # (my hand writing is chicken scratch), I p-touch the case # and attach it to the top right corner of every paper.

I didn't staple anything. Instead I use clips to fasten each things together. I bought one of those stamps from Office-Max. You know the one you can use to make any message you want. I made my case number and sealed that on top-right hand corner of everything, except the bar-coded coversheet. It cost about $30. I figure it was worth the money since I can use it on my IV package. Plus, I can use it for many other things beside immigration. Go head and buy one of this bad boys. Here's a picture of the stamp.
