Hi, did anyone tried to email NVC and didn't get an automatic reply, I sent an email yesterday and nothing back, same thing for my husband. I've used the correct email address. Just checking...

The auto response from NVC is like head-or-tail situation. You get a auto reply sometimes. You don't get one sometimes. I've noticed that I get auto reply when NVC is closed. Like if you email them at 00:00 EST at night, NVC is closed. Send them an email, you'll get a auto-reply. Just make sure you are copy+pasting the email address and you'll be fine.

Hey guyz, sorry for jumping in the middle like that but I am FREAKING OUT!!! DHL delivered my passport with the visa and the infamous yellow/brown envelope... The envelope however has a really weird "design" - the upper left corner has a whole!!! I mean, it looks like it is cut out but it looks like it is the design of the envelope... Is that possible?? Idk if that is the way it is supposed to be cos I thought it's a whole envelope (like for a letter or smth)... Help please???

I don't know what the envelope looks like as I've never reached that point in the visa process before.

Typically it is a sealed enevelope. I don't know about that cutout. Your best bet would be to talk to the Consulate before the travel.

Guess I dont understand Mrs D. Why worry about the envelope? Its your visa and passport that really matter, isnt it? Does the envelop have any significance that I am not aware of? I though it would just be a vessel to mail your documents in. What am I missing?

I'm so ####ing mad right now. I went home for lunch break so I could open the FedEX from wife. I told her to print 3 copies of DS230 and send me all 3 copies. But she only sent 1 signed copy. But she sent 3 copies of W7 (for tax return.) Now I'm so frigging discouraged. Though one copy is enough, I just have to make sure I don't **** up a single time. She also printed on some crappy paper. Looks like a frigging copy. Argh! FML! FML! FML! FML! FML! I'm angry but I don't know who I should direct that anger toward.

We have those envolopes in our office. Don't worry. It should be fine. It's part of the design. It'd done to be able to see that there's stuff inside without having to open or break the seal. But for your satisfaction, you can contact the embassy.

I thought something similar might happen and printed everything and mailed it to my wife clearly highlighting the places where she needed to sign. So all she had to do was sign and send it. I also included the extra copies just in case.

I remember asking her to do that before for the G325A and it was printed on some crappy paper. So didn't want to take the risk this time around.

I think you should be fine. Just do some practise fill-ups before u fill up that one DS230 form.

Yeah. I just wanted to save time. Now i'm conflicted. Should I go ahread and send this sh*ty paper. Or should I FedEX her the DS230. Then she'll get it in 3 days. Then I'll get it in 7 days. I can kiss my December interview's #### good bye. I'm so figging mad at myself. Nothing ever works for me. No wonder why pessimism is so appealing to me. But now and then, it's hard not to be optimistic. And that's why I'm angry at myself. I shouldn't have been optimistic or excited about this. I should've anticipated this. FML!

YAHOOOO Congratulations Mrs. D I am so happy for you. I would not worrie about the envelope too much I think it's standard, but to give you piece of mind you should call them.
