My OPT just ended last friday. And I have a job interview lined up for next week. I also still have 60days which i can remain in the US and be of legal status. If offered this new job, can the company still sponsor me? Is it too late? Or can I still apply for OPT extenstion (I am an information technology major).

Any advice will be helpful.... thanks!

Of which country are you a citizen? If Canada or Mexico, there are alternatives (TN-1 and TN-2 respectively).

(otherwise) yes, the company can sponsor you if there are any H1-b's still left in the FY-2011 quota.

As of September 24th, there were 38,600 H1B petitions received (out of 65,000), and 14,400 Masters Cap petitions received (out of 20,000).

You still have a chance to get your H1B and start working this year. Good luck!
