Hi everyone,

I am Chris Fisher I am engaged to get married to the most beautiful woman in all of the world. A friend of mine had directed me to this site and so far it has been a lot of help on trying to get everything together. I am just worn out trying to get everything together for my fiance and I. She is in Ethiopia and I am here in the states. so a few questions if someone could answer them please?

1. How much or many emails should I place with the paper work?

2. Should I also include facebook wall to wall postings? If so, how much of that?

3. Should I also write a letter letting them know that we have known each other for over 2 years and have been a couple for over a year and we have decided that since we love each other then we should get married? Will that possibly speed up the process?

4. Should I let them know our plans to get married, pay off my student loans after I graduate in December, and move back to Ethiopia within 2 years of us getting married?

Thank you for your time and any wisdom you might be able to add.

Chris

hi,

you dont wanna take any chances, so you should give them as much information as you can afford. give stuff from facebook and loads of email messages! give them pictures! I hope you have met her and taken pictures or have travel documents to show that u guys have met. give them everything u can think of.I know this because my husband gave them a lot of evidence to show we had a real relationship going.

Goodluck!

if you plan on moving back to Ethiopia within 2 years of getting married then this might not be what you want because you have to maintain residence in the US, you cant move to the US get married get a green card then move back to ethiopia. You need to AOS from the k-1 and the green card is valid for 2 years then you have to file for removal of conditions. All the while maintaining your US residence status.

Everything you mission all from 1 to 4, is acceptable. U.S. embassy in Ethiopia mostly prefers a whole bunch of picture. As you know if you aware of it Internet service in Ethiopia is very slow they don't expect everyone to provide online, e-mail list, skype and so on...

You should provide whenever you have us much as you can. But, do not forget to provide all kind of pictures you and your fiancé you and the fiancée family. And in Ethiopian tradition family have a highly respect in their family member marriage ceremony. The embassy takes this consideration they do expect you to bring a bunch of picture.

Good luck

They can move to Ethiopia whenever they want; they just have to give up their LPR status if they are moving for more than two years and don't plan to return. You don't "have" to file for removal of conditions if they choose to move away and vacate their status instead.

AOS for my husband
8/17/10: INTERVIEW DAY (day 123) APPROVED!!

ROC:
5/23/12: Sent out package
2/06/13: APPROVED!

Thanks everyone. I do have a lot of photo's. I have somewhere in the count of 30 photo's over the past two years. Most of them from the first time when we met and this year when we gotten engaged. We have a picture with her wearing the ring too. I have letters of people who know us both and they all support us, and these letters have been notarized and signed. I hope and pray that we will have God's grace when this all goes down.
