Hey everyone, been stalking on visa journey for a while but this is my first official post.

I am "lucky" enough to be a June filer at CSC and like everyone else waiting is my main occupation right now, so i have decided to get as much stuff ready before that NOA2 arrives so there is a little wait as possible due to gathering documents etc....

basically i was just wondering what time should i go to have my medical examination? can i go do that now before we have even received the NOA2 or is this something that must be done closer to the interview date?

thanks heaps!

Brad.

Most clinics require your consulate case # (which is different than your USCIS case number)...

YMMV

You might want to get hold of your vaccination records already, make sure you're up to date on them and have any that will be cheaper to get at your own doctor. You don't generally need to have the vaccinations before getting to the US for the K1 visa but it is much easier to do so.

What country?

Agreed. Country makes a different. For instance, Australia doesn't need you to wait (there's more involved but you DON'T need the NOA2) depending on your state of course.

Since its only valid for 6 months getting it too soon could be a bad thing if the case gets delayed after the interview for some reason...

We got are NVC case number by calling them right after we got NOA2 and was able to get the medical done before ever hearing anything from the embassy, we also had all the papers filled out when we got packet 3 and sent them the same day we recived packet 3.

I hope this helps!

Hello, question to what you had said above... My fiance is from Wales and we would like to be prepared as you were. How do we know which Dr ne needs to see for the examination? Is there anything specific? THanks so much and congrats on everything!

You might want to check this? But as far as I can remember there is only one doctors office that the embassy uses in the UK, I got this from here the VJ site, "Knightsbridge Doctors in London is the sole contractor for Embassy medicals".

Tel: 020 7486 7822

Hope this helps and good luck on your journey!

In the UK you will need to wait to get the case number before booking a medical. This is probably best in Australia as well, just in case approval of the petition takes longer than you expect. But once you get the case number go ahead and make your appointment. (Being prepared is good, in the UK they don't really tell you much about the medical so if you never went online you'd probably be in a last minute rush!)

What you can do now is get your vaccinations in order: generally easier to do through your own doctor, and easier than getting them in the US.

The UK Embassy for the USA would be a good source for most of the interview & medical related questions you might have. http://london.usembassy.gov/immigrant-visas.html
