Hi -- just wondering if anyone has any perspective on the following:

London UK Embassy received our approved application from Immigration in July, and sent a letter to Fatima in London saying they have the application now. It took us a while to submit all the required forms (DS-230, part 1, DS-156, DS-157, and DS-156K) to the Embassy, which were mailed to them on September 2nd. They sent Fatima a letter dated Sep. 20 which sounded like they hadn't received anything, and were wondering if we still wanted to continue with the application... !

Is it common for it to take some time for the Embassy to process the forms and get them in our file? Would someone three weeks later not know we had already sent in the forms, because they hadn't made it into our file yet? We're sending the Embassy a letter now stating that yes, we are still wanting to continue, and asking for confirmation that they received the forms and they are in our file.

It will take the month of October for Fatima to gather her police record, new photos, schedule the medical etc., and for me to complete the financial affadavit, document our ongoing relationship, etc. Then we plan to send the Embassy the Form 2001 letting them know we're all ready for the interview. Does anyone know how long it takes from sending in the form 2001 to getting the interview scheduled? Should we be sending in the form 2001 sooner? Are we going about this part of the process OK?

Thanks for any feedback!

What is the Form 2001 you are refering to? Did you send the checklist - IV-15? I am under the impression that London will not schedule an interview without the checklist, I could be wrong.

DS 2001 is the checklist. They've changed the number. You can wait to send that in.

Yes, it can take up to 3 or 4 weeks for them to log in paperwork that you have sent in. Go ahead and send in a letter saying that you want to continue the application and that you sent all of the paperwork, minus the checklist, in early September. It's possible that they haven't logged your paperwork yet, or it's possible it's been misplaced and you will have to send it again. If you still have copies of all the forms, I would suggest just sending in a new packet with a cover letter saying that you want to continue and that this is a second packet of information. Also state in your cover letter that you will send the checklist (2001) in another few weeks.
