You can't save the world, so you might as well save yourself. Immigration policy to America never should have morphed into the misguided notion of charity that it has become. Another reason that illegal immigration has been allowed to flourish and why legal immigration does not reflect the present economic reality that America is in now. Even with massive long termed American unemployment and underemployment the numbers remain unchanged. Clearly our government is not managing immigration policy competently and in the best interests of the American people and hasn't for decades.

"Credibility in immigration policy can be summed up in one sentence: Those who should get in, get in; those who should be kept out, are kept out; and those who should not be here will be required to leave."

"...for the system to be credible, people actually have to be deported at the end of the process."

US Congresswoman Barbara Jordan (D-TX)

Testimony to the House Immigration Subcommittee, February 24, 1995

You need to save yourself first, before you can assist others. It's extremely unethical to see your fellow citizens suffer and live in squalor, while you take care of Mexico's poor.

After all, there is a reason why no other first world country condones the equivalent practices.

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

East Oakland [CA] has a 27% unemployment rate, yet for some, illegals aliens are still better than giving these Americans opportunity to work.

The irony of this city is the state it's located in, versus the state of the biggest advocate of illegal aliens.

"I want to take this opportunity to mention how thankful I am for an Obama re-election. The choice was clear. We cannot live in a country that treats homosexuals and women as second class citizens. Homosexuals deserve all of the rights and benefits of marriage that heterosexuals receive. Women deserve to be treated with respect and their salaries should not depend on their gender, but their quality of work. I am also thankful that the great, progressive state of California once again voted for the correct President. America is moving forward, and the direction is a positive one."
