I have a really trivial question but, between where you pick up your luggage and agricultural and where you drop it off again, are there baggage carts??

I'm just asking because I'm going to have 3 suitcases, a backpack and a violin case. Probably gonna cry if I have to move on suitcase at a time.

Also, do I take the luggage with me to the green room?

How does it work?

I've read most of the Atlanta POE experience posts but couldn't find anything.

Atlanta is a major airport I would not worry about it there must be carts everywhere. And if not hopefully you are a woman, so you can smile, look pretty and you will always find a nice guy to carry your luggage for you :) (It works a lot better here than back in Europe!High 5 to American guys!)

Yes, there are baggage-carts--for which you will need either some US quarters and/or Sacajaweas (US$ coins) in change.

Also, another detail. Due to Hartsfield's sheer size, the OP will actually have to claim the luggage, drag it through Customs, and then put it on another belt which will take it to main-baggage-claim--and then reclaim it and put it on a cart...

Hi there. :) My daughter and I went through Atlanta last year (Oct 2009)

When you go through immigration, what you will have on you is your carry on. After going through the booth, you will go to the green room. From there, you go claim your bags at the baggage area (yes, they will have carts there, not to worry). If you have a connecting flight then you have to take your luggage through customs then down to another conveyor belt to be loaded onto your next flight (make sure your tags are still intact...one of my bags went missing after we arrived in Tallahassee).

If Atlanta is your final stop then after customs you head down to the main lobby. :)

Thank you for the info guys! I'll make sure I have a few quaters in my pocket then.

I actually arrived in ATL a few months ago because I was visiting my husband. But I totally forgot all about the detais because I was so nervous after having passed the immigration officer. :D And just now I realized, wow.. that's a lot of luggage to drag around.

Thankfully, ATL is my final destination :)
