I have a small question, When my finance applied for the K-1 Visa, she put down my embassy as the U.S Embassy in Mumbai, I am from Karnataka therefore i have to send all the details to Chennai consulate, Is there anything i can do now to change so that the NVC sends the packet to Chennai and not Mumbai ???? will this cause a delay ??? I am still waiting for my NOA-2 , but its been bothering me, any help is highly appreciated !!!!!

Well , if you are saying that your case is still pending , You can simply ask your fiancee to call the USCIS and talk to Tier 2 (supervisor you can say) and ask him to correct it , he will send an immediate mail and fix it for you and he will give you number for that correction , keep it , and after some weeks you gonna receive NOA for the coorection.

Sam

Beautiful patience.

A likely scenario is that NVC will see the mistake, and simply redirect it to Chennai (why they haven't moved Karnataka to Hyderabad Consulate's purview?).

I had an analogous experience with INS about 12 years ago--the chop tasked to file I-129's for company employees mistakenly sent the one for my TN-1 to TSC (mail-in TN-1 renewals are processed only at NSC), and it was forwarded to the right one so no harm was done (and I would not even have found out, had I not been asked for a sample renewal-letter).

2005/07/10 I-129F filed for Pras

2005/11/07 I-129F approved, forwarded to NVC--to Chennai Consulate 2005/11/14

2005/12/02 Packet-3 received from Chennai

2005/12/21 Visa Interview Date

2006/04/04 Pras' entry into US at DTW

2006/04/15 Church Wedding at Novi (Detroit suburb), MI

2006/05/01 AOS Packet (I-485/I-131/I-765) filed at Chicago

2006/08/23 AP and EAD approved. Two down, 1.5 to go

2006/10/13 Pras' I-485 interview--APPROVED!

2006/10/27 Pras' conditional GC arrives -- .5 to go (2 yrs to Conditions Removal)

2008/07/21 I-751 (conditions removal) filed

2008/08/22 I-751 biometrics completed

2009/06/18 I-751 approved

2009/07/03 10-year GC received; last 0.5 done!

2009/07/23 Pras files N-400

NVC will decide which one you go to, based on your state of residence--which in your case is Chennai (I checked at US Consulate/Embassy site).

The major difference is the language (other than English) availability.

How about the trite "hurry-up-and-wait" approach? Basically, wait for the notice from NVC and go to the specified consulate.
