Has anyone brought their kids with them to their interview? Our kids are US citizens, so they're not part of the petition, but I don't think we can arrange for anyone else to keep them while we're in Montreal...is it okay to bring them with us? Has anyone done so? Thoughts?? (They are preschool age.)

To my knowledge any US Citizen is allowed in the consulate so it shouldn't be a problem at all, I am also sure you will not be the first person to bring their children along. If you have huge concerns you could email the montreal consulate and just ask(however they will prob take forever to answer back). However that gives me a question as to if we can bring any childrens books or toys along as my son is going to be going crazy. I wish you luck on your interview and only hope the best.

When I went back in 2009 they had a section in the back with some of thos wooden beads on the metal track thing that kids play with, they also had some books back there and mini table and chairs. Not sure if its still there or not.. was a while ago..

Tons of children and babys when I went there! no electronic toys or books are allowed so no gameboys or leapfrog/leappad products like that. There was a couple of kids that had some hand size dumptruck toys that they had brought in with them ( saw them getting off the big elevator with them ). They were plastic not metal.

Thanks guys, this is reassuring...now we just have to figure out how to keep them busy for all that time! I hope they'll let me bring in some food/milk for them, we'll probably try anyway and if they toss it, they toss it.

We were there just yesterday and there were lots of children in there.

They do have a drink and snack machine (but snack machine was broken,I was STARVING).

Oh, but I wanted to mention that even though strollers and diaper bags arent "allowed". We saw several familes with strollers in there, no problems. I don't know how you could get around bringing supplies in for children?

Thanks for letting us know, I was just thinking is it worth trying to take the stroller with us, I guess then it is worth a try...

As for the supplies, well, we'll take stuff and keep in mind it might be tossed out...hope they'll have mercy on us when they see the kids :)
