Over or Under?

There is a passive aggressive war at my job going on and it's all over toilet paper. The janitorial staff replace the rolls and put them in Over. Now, there are some people who will change the orientation of the paper so that it is Under. This has gotten really petty in the last month with people actually going floor by floor to check. I prefer it one way, but I don't really care that much. So I ask, which do you prefer?

I prefer over, but yeah, not a big deal. If my husband ever were to change the toilet paper roll and put it under, I wouldn't change it back. But that's never going to happen, thank goodness I don't have to worry about it.

Back when t.p. often had printed designs on it, it would be common practice to roll it over the top.

Some restrooms in the U.S. that are equipped for handicapped people will have double rolls of t.p. -- one rolling over, one rolling under. Perhaps this is because some disabled people find it easier to deal with t.p. one way more than the other.

I prefer it over....If my fiance were to put it on under....I WOULD change it. I'm not OCD, just a preference.

It really isn't a big issue to me- I'll take it either way as long as it's there! My husband likes it over 'cause it is easier to reach where it is located so that's what I do. Yeah, Jenn - I never have to worry about him putting the toilet paper roll on either. He just leaves the new roll out on the cabinet for me to do.

My Mum prefers it under and I prefer it over. Whenever she came over to my house she would turn it around and she wouldn't stop doing it even when I asked her. lol. So then I started turning hers around every time I was over there. We no longer change each other's paper now.

I always thought it was more hygienic to have it over. If it is under, it touches the wall and stuff.

Oh yeah, and put my hubby in the category of those who won't put a new roll on. Just puts it on the toilet tank.

In all of these graphic guides, it doesn't matter what the "garnish" is - they are all OVER.

The reason for that is very simple.

If you grab a few sheets and the roll is under,

you have to hold the top of the roll with your other

hand in order to yank out the few sheets you want..

If the roll is over, you just put a finger firmly above the perforation and the sheets you want tear free.

Nik does put the roll all the way on the holder , but as I tend to use a larger quantity, statistically I replace the roll more often. I have a slight preference for over, I'll use it however it's on there, but if I'm paying attention, it's on there over. Nik will change it's orientation AND comment if it's under.
