Timeline

does anyone know if k-1 visa is a multiple entry visa? we want to go to the US and come home to ireland for a visit after a few months to have a wedding ceremony/blessing here.

can i go home for a visit after arriving in the US?

October 8th- Sent off K-1 visa package

October 21st- Received email saying we have been assigned to CSC

October 28th- Waiting on NOA1

October 29th- NOA1 received!!!

March 16th 2011- Received email saying petition for fiance has been approved and that NOA2 is in the mail!

April 12th 2011- Waiting on lettter with interview date from Dublin Embassy. Medical scheduled for 26th April

No, one-entry visa and expires once you enter.

If you want to go home for a visit, enter, get married, file AOS right away and wait 2-3 months to receive Advance Parole - with that you can re-enter the US while AOS is ongoing. Anything other than this process gets your AOS cancelled and you have to start from scratch with CR-1 visa.

Single entry only. Must get married within 90 days and can leave at any time but can only return to the US if you first obtain the AP or the GC part of AOS. Read the Guides.

The K-1 visa is not a multiple entry visa. Only 1.

If you'd like to come back home after a few weeks/months, you might want to apply for Advance Parole (AP) asap after your wedding. The AP allows you to reenter the U.S. before receiving your Green Card.

Timeline

You can leave the US anytime you want. Reentry is another matter, and you'll want advanced parole (refer to the guides and AP) to do so.
