You're right hope..inshallah everything gets resolved asap..it's kinda ridiculous that it takes so long to get out of that land..I thought that was their objective, to get the Palestinians out..I guess they're gonna do so with a little torture first!!..

I have been calling them with no connection..come to think of it..I would and can only assume that there's a delay of information between Jerusalem and here (the US)..so just cross your fingers and be patient..it's been 15 months since I saw my wife..my patience is running low but not out.. :).

I got ahold of the DOS again, and they told me they have requested my wife's passport, though I have not received any calls or emails from the jerusalem consulate, should I go ahead and send it in??.. or should I send the consulate an email and wait???..

Well, my husband got a call from the consulate to send his passport in. Did you give the consulate your number or hers for contact? Most likely they will call whoevers number they have and tell them to send it in. If not, try to email them.

I called DOS today and Alhamdulilah they told me my husbands visa is approved and that they sent it out Friday. Inshallah we will get it tommorow. Hopefully your journey will come to an end and you will get the visa soon.

good news!..My wife received her passport with an issued visa, however she received 2 envelopes, anyone know what they are??

THANKS!!!

Congratulations!   I am so glad to hear your great news - you've had a really long wait.

About the envelopes - were both of them sealed and marked with "Do Not Open" and also something like "Only to be opened by a U.S. immigration officer" ?

It's standard for the consulates to issue a brown envelope (containing all your paperwork) along with the visa - this envelope must be handed to immigration at the first point of entry in the U.S.

So if both envelopes are sealed and marked this way, DO NOT OPEN them! Your wife needs to carry both of them with her on the plane (make sure she knows NOT to pack them in her checked luggage) and then hand them over to the immigration officer at her point of entry where she first arrives in the U.S.

If by any chance she has opened them, you will have to get a new set from the consulate (in a new sealed envelope.)

Wishing you and your wife a wonderful reunion, and all the happiness in life together!
