Wrong EAD number?

Hi VJ community,

I have some quick questions regarding the EAD. I got mine today in the mail (finally!), and noticed that the Card # on the card itself is my Receipt # for the i765, which is MSC##########, whereas printed on the mailer the card came in was an entirely different Card# accompanying a barcode; the number was in the form of 1A-ddmm of my birth-########. The Receipt # was also printed on the mailer accompanied by another barcode.

My questions are:

Shouldn't the card # on the card be the same as that on the mailer it came in, in other words, did they mess up during the card production and printed the receipt# on my card instead by mistake?

If it is indeed a mistake, should I try to notify them and who do I call?

Thanks a bunch,

Anh

The I-765 receipt number is also your EAD card number. :)

If you look for the detachable part of the mailer, your receipt number should be printed on there too with the bar code underneath (you send this to USCIS if you need to renew or replace your EAD card for any reason).

Thank you! I guess I shouldn't over-think it; it only seemed strange to me that they have another card# printed on the mailer :)
