So today i called customer service regarding my I-129F(filed March 2010). I sent VSC an email asking about my case coz it was past the 5 mths processing time, after making a service request and not receiving a response. Then after a few days i get a reply saying my case was transfered to the local office. So I thought when, why, and I wasnt notified like as when the I-130 was transfered. So decided to call today and I was actually transfered (escalated my call). They said that all I-130 are being transfered to the local offices. That I should just wait for an interview for either I-129F or I-130. But I am here and Ahmed (husband) is in Egypt. This is really, not common right? Should I keep my infopass for this coming Friday or cancel it? Any words of advice?

Did they transfer the file FOR your infopass appointment? since your appointment/interview with infopass is at a local office... and if they need to look at your file etc would they not transfer it?

Your I-129f was approved in 5 days from your NOA1 date.

Your interview took 67 days from your I-129F NOA1 date.

AOS was approved in 2 months and 8 days without interview.

ROC was approved in 3 months and 2 days without interview.

No the file wasnt transfered for the infopass. I myself requested the Infopass appointment. They say it was transfered but they are not 100% sure. I swear, they dont even know what to say these customer service reps anymore.

One email from VSC, says it was transfered to the Oakland Park, Fl Local Field Office.

Called customer serivce says they dont know if that is a fact, cant tell me when it was transfered and any detailed information.

Get another email just a few minutes ago from the Oakland Park, Fl Field Office saying the case is in the VSC.

See the confusion. This is crazy!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'd recommend going to the Infopass appt for clarification. This is a great opportunity to get clarification on everything you can think of! I've had 2 appts and they were very helpful! Good luck!

I am aware of 'transfer to local office' process prior to I-130 approval.

It sucks.

for some detail (here's some homework for you)

use advanced search feature.

search terms -> 'being proactive'

author -> 'Darnell'

then click on 'show as posts' .

Good Luck !

remember - that 'thing' doesn't work unless yer able to get the 'first human' to 'pull yer casefile'.

that's the one caveat that , I think will make the difference.

No Casefile? Why Bother?
