Tourist visa for sister in law

My sister in law is hoping to visit over Christmas.

I would imagine that she'll be approved - she has a professional job of many years, and a husband and newborn baby that she is leaving at home (bringing 2 of her 5 children to visit). But I don't think she has that much money in the bank, at least by US standards. I don't think it will cost that much for her visit really - she'll be staying with us and other family, so only expenses are for food and tourist activities.

Do you think it would help or hurt her chances if we sent her a letter of invitation or filled out an afradavit of support?

Some countrys require a letter of invite to apply for tourist visas. You might want to check what is required on their countrys website to make sure.

Which countries consulates require a letter of invitation. I have never heard of any that do.

Plane tickets would be the obvious biggie, x3.
