From what I saw when I was living in the US, people do make voting decisions made on the basis of television advertising, using slogans to justify their decision.

Kerry is right as far as his comment goes, but being part of that political system obviously you have to take his words with a pinch of salt.

Hanoi John Ketchup's comment can best be described as "pot calling kettles black"--since he still seems to be clueless about the obvious inconsistency in his story of "raiding Cambodia on a secret mission in December 1968 under orders from President Richard Nixon".
