I wouldn't generalize like that because if you are Canadian and get stuck going through the Montreal Consulate you have to wait just as long for the NOA2... I'm coming up on 4 months... and then the wait for the interview is 4-6 months... so it's not quick at all, and it actually is quite longer than a lot of high fraud countries for the wait...

Exactly...I don't think our petitions get approved any easier or faster than other countries. We wait just as long as everyone else and honestly, usually longer if you go through Montreal. I hate when people assume it's easier for Canadians.

of course i wouldnt generalize, and i dont believe i said ALL the cases.

a good example ( i dont wanna be talking about what id ont know anything about ) is ankara embassy, the standard wait time for iranian petitioners for non immigrant visas is 12 weeks,HOWEVER in reality because of course the turkish citizen for none immigrant visas come before us,it goes down to 24 weeks at times.

thats how nationality in my case can effect it.

AT THIS POINT its all CSC's fault.they are beyond slow.

it is NEVER just candians, its any country that has close diplomatic ties to the states or shares the same language or tons of other elements.

it could be the nationality.

majority of the cases that get approved so quickly are the ones from countries with good political relationships with the states and also low level of fraud countries.

never the less, there shouldnt be any difference between us,as a couple and a part i dk...Canadian or British couple that goes through the process within say three or four months

Not so!

We completed the process last year when Montreal was "relatively" quick in booking interviews and it still took us 9 months from submission to interview and that was with only 19 days at NVC! So it was 5 whole months waiting for the NOA2....not even close to 3 -4 months months total.

I don't think you understand what I meant... In Canada, the process is one of the slowest of any country in the world. If a close political relationship really came into play, Montreal wouldn't be one of the slowest consulates in the world. The USA would hire more staff and go to more measures to fix all of Montreal's problems. Honestly, I can't see how the relationships between the USA and another country even remotely come into play. High fraud countries don't count as a bad relationship, IMHO. There are other factors working in those instances.

well it is a a little eaiser (or at least the waiting) because you are from a visa waiver country and can come for a visit easily... B-)

Putting aside the logistics of distance...the odds of my SO getting a visitor visa are slim and none. So while I agree whole heartedly that getting approval is no quicker or easier for Canadians, I have to believe being able to drive across the bridge and see your SO anytime makes life a bit easier.

Yeah, I agree with that. I see my fiance all the time, but it did come at a cost. I was living in arctic Canada when we met and I left my job, home, cats, and everything else so I could be within a 2 hour drive during the visa process. So while it is nice we see each other all the time, I now have new stresses due to being unemployed and living with my dad. The bottom line is the process sucks for everybody. None of us is living the ideal situation.

In Ontario? Meh, it's debatable. I was used to the weather in the arctic and nobody bugged me when I said I was cold there. Haha.
