It's just so funny , because I really can feel you ygr , Same here , I am so much eager to read interview experiences but when I am about to start I feel anxious ..... so I did I just bookmarked it and then decided to read it when I will already get my approval , haha ! I really couldn't define the feeling of waiting and feeling as if it'll be forever .. everyday I am on this site and everyday I am checking our case status , but it only frustrates me .. It's so funny I tried to skipped for 2 days just to surprised myself and thought of maybe after those days when I opened the site the decision has been made , ahahahaays .... but let's just think that it's really only a matter of time , .. It's all worth the wait but to miss him like this ..... RArrraa .....

I just wonder .. I just think there are a lot of filers every summer , My friend filed last november 09 and then got her interview letter after almost only 3mos of waiting ..

Anyway 3mos is the usual , I just don't know why for us may filers took so long ..

i dont even turn my computer off, cause i keep thinking what if USCIs email me with the info of our second notice of action?its silly to be honest, but it shows how desperate i am.to make the matters worse,my fiance is active duty military, and he is going back to states in about 20 days?so we cant really get ready for after NVC either,he has to be in his next duty station in order for us to get most of the things done.

im just soooo bleeeeh.thats the only word that can describe the feeling.

my own cousin, got engaged after only 5 or 6 months of talking on the phone, filled around april, and she already knows her interview date ( ankara embassy USUALLY sets the dates about five months ahead.).i cant even compare my case to that.

its not just may fillers,CSC used to be the quickest and now Vermont seems to be on top

I am curious about these few cases like yours that only take 2 months or so while so many others take 5+. I know that all cases are different...just trying to figure out exactly what some of the things are that make them different : ) Can you tell us if there were any special circumstances with your case that may have contributed to it getting done so fast, like being in the military or having small children together perhaps? Oh, and by the way....congratulations!!

something that i have learned first handed and might help either middle easterns or people with special cases in general is...when you file for an embassy outside of your own country,it takes much much much longer.

like i mentioned Ankara embassy for example is one of the few that handles iranian cases.i saw with my own eyes a case, where the guy was iranian and lived in turkey and got his appointed about like 2 weeks after they got his package.but for other normal iranian it has taken up to 6 months to get their interview date.

just dropping my two cents in

We also had a fast case approval, our interview will be on October 7. We sent our application on May 4, and on July 7 we were approved. We got a minor delay because of some mixup with the embassies in France and Ukraine. All the process has been surprisingly fast and painless. No idea why, I think just by random luck we got a fast adjudicator :innocent: Hope your cases get approved soon soon (F)

What does the term "Touched" mean?

If you register on the USCIS website, add your case to your "account", then check your case status that way, you will see a date field called "Last Updated". Sometimes this date can change, even if the overall case status does not. For instance, my NOA1 is 9/14, but the Last Updated date is showing 9/16, so my file was "touched" for some reason on 9/16. ...just means part of their internal processes touched your file.

I agree with you, I too am curious about some cases only taking a month or two to get their NOA2. If cases are truly adjudicated in order by date received other than those cases that are expedited then it really does not make sense. I've pm'd a few different people that seemed to have normal cases and received their NOA2's within a month or two, all of them didn't expedite and said they were organized and it "must have been luck of the draw." This answer doesn't sit well with me. It shouldn't be based on luck at all. This agency (USCIS) needs to identify the true/actual process and be held accountable. Does anyone have any insight for these occurrences, when some cases slip through so much faster than all the other cases filed around the same time? For instance, one case I saw was for a late June filer that received her NOA2 in less than 3 weeks and as of today has already had an interview and been approved. She was one of the "luck of the draw" people I spoke to. It is so disheartening to see cases like this that seemingly received special treatment (even if the special treatment was only a quick approval) where all the rest of us that filed around the same time are still waiting w/o any action at all. :(

I really don't think it is as simple as luck of the draw, but who knows...I understand that a thorough background check is one of the first steps, if not the very first step they do...I am wondering if everyone gets sent into that process almost immediately, but they have the net cast so wide that almost everyone gets caught up in the "additional manual research" net, which in turn delays the whole process while awaiting for an available body to do the research, whereas a lucky few are completely cleared "automatically" and ultimately finished right away...I have no idea if there is a grain of truth in that, just my suspicions...we run applicants through a background check where I work and have a similar "kickout" process for manual handling, most of which are false positives that just need to be cleared by human eyes rather than a computer...of course, our process is much smaller in scale in both sheer volume and what databases are being checked, and we only get about a 33% "hit rate" but I see possible similarities...

it could be the nationality.

majority of the cases that get approved so quickly are the ones from countries with good political relationships with the states and also low level of fraud countries.

never the less, there shouldnt be any difference between us,as a couple and a part i dk...Canadian or British couple that goes through the process within say three or four months

Yea I thought about that. For the case I mentioned her fiance was from Mexico. I am guessing that Mexico is consider a high fraud country, and the political atmosphere is fairly heated. Who knows, maybe like smunie said its just a matter of getting through the background checks without any flags/problems, still the not knowing and not being able to ask anyone is completely frustrating!

I wouldn't generalize like that because if you are Canadian and get stuck going through the Montreal Consulate you have to wait just as long for the NOA2... I'm coming up on 4 months... and then the wait for the interview is 4-6 months... so it's not quick at all, and it actually is quite longer than a lot of high fraud countries for the wait...

Yes, I also do not understand the fact that why it is taking so long for USCIS to approve you. I am sure all of you also sent the same required paperwork. It could be background check as most of people mentioned about it.

We do not have any special circumstances/military or small child together.

I can say it is just luck and the answer of our prayer.

God bless you people.
