I know it's just Day 56 but I had to find out what was happening with my EAD. Like a lot of you on this website, I have a job offer but obviously can't start till I get my EAD.

Anyways, my appointment time was 11:40am. I waited for about an hour and finally got called at 12:45pm.

The officer was really nice, surprisingly polite and said she understood my situation etc etc....while she was pulling up my information.

Here's what she said....they (Missouri) haven't really done much on the 765 or the 131. The reason being....off late, interviews are being scheduled much quicker and it's easier to stamp during the interview rather than process the 765 separately. She pointed out that my interview was coming up in a few weeks and that I wouldn't need an EAD if I got approved.

After I repeated my problem (have a job....need to start right away....blah blah) and politely hinted that the I-765 is an petition in itself, she said she would take photocopies of my biometrics (OK - stamped) notice and my I-765 notice and send a copy to Missouri by inter-office today itself. She would request a clerk to pull out my I-765 application from my file and process it. MAYBE they would be able to process it soon and send me an approval.

When I asked her if I would get my EAD before my interview date (Sep 11 - Day 80)....she said her guess was as good as mine.

NOW I WISH I HAD SCHEDULED AN INFOPASS A MONTH AGO!!!!

So bad news and good news.....they haven't done much about the EAD yet but maybe they'll do something within the next week.

If nothing else, at least she told me exactly where I stood in the process. Better than waiting for a status change online!!!!

Hope my experiece helps some of you out there and in the same boat.

I know that you are waiting to start working, but if your interview is on Sep 11 it's not too bad to wait until then. Processing has gotten a lot faster.
