Timeline

I'm not certain where to put this question. I'm seeking clarification on the immigration process for editing my timeline.

When editing our timeline in the AOS portion there is the date the Green Card is received and there is "Got I551 Stamp" area.

I read in the guides that when you can apply for Naturalization depends on the date of the I551 stamp. I also have been reading that some people who are approved for AOS and have received their Green Cards did not edit their timeline to show they got an I551 stamp. So I'm confused about the I551 stamp.

Is the I551 stamp put into our file by the IO and we go off the date of our Green Cards for Naturalization?

Or is the Green Card and the I551 stamp to same thing and when we get the Green Card we put in our timeline that the I551 stamp was received?

Do we need to have an actual I551 stamp in the passport to put that we received an I551 stamp?

Never mind. We received the 10 year green card today and I saw on the top left hand portion of the backside the I-551. I guess I will go off the date of the GC issued for it. good.gif
