Age gap?

My wife is a bit older, but not by much and not in percentage terms.

Joking aside, the question comes back to whether there is a suggestion of the purpose being primarily to obtain an immigration benefit. So local cultural norms come into question.

I have never been to Brazil, the age gap with a Philippines petition would seem not unusual, with one say from the UK eyebrows would be raised.Well certainly any of my younger friends having an 18 yo GF would be accused of cradle snatching.

Hi guys

I am an 18 year-old brazilian girl, and my fiancé is a 46 year-old american. I love him more than the world, and I went against everything that disapproved of us together. I am completely devoted to him and am scared to death to get nervous when the consul asks about our age gap.

It's a pretty big age gap, and I'm scared of the insinuations there may be... Pleeeease help!!

I'd really appreciate any advice on how not to get nervous =]

Thanks a lot

"I want to take this opportunity to mention how thankful I am for an Obama re-election. The choice was clear. We cannot live in a country that treats homosexuals and women as second class citizens. Homosexuals deserve all of the rights and benefits of marriage that heterosexuals receive. Women deserve to be treated with respect and their salaries should not depend on their gender, but their quality of work. I am also thankful that the great, progressive state of California once again voted for the correct President. America is moving forward, and the direction is a positive one."

So what!

And anyone making such a statement, would first take a glance at the old fatass nagbag hagbag sitting next to them before expressing their jealousy of the mature man rocking the hot Brazilian eye candy.

Let the haters hate, and just ignore 'em

i have to admit,i was surprised by the 46 year old taking over to defend this whole post.

if you believe in what you say, then dont care what people think, dont even bother to respond, its that simple.

people will judge away and it will get worse by the time you get her to the states.

i just hope you realize the amount of pressure that is on her

Oh my... would the same apply to me and my 'boy'? lol I'm turning 40 in January and he's 'only 28'!

I'm the 'culprit' in this case! I'm the cougar.

If the consul asks me why such a much younger man, I am gonna HAVE to laugh.

Anyway, in all seriousness, there's no big issue here in Brazil regarding the age gap, either older man or older women, as long as you're not underage (under 18) and if it's true that there's no 'cut age' then all you need is to be firm and show that you KNOW what you are doing and why and I'm sure you'll have no problem.

But I agree with what someone has said twice here, be ready to answer these questions and be somewhat drilled because they can and they will do so. And honestly, they should, because you are truly young and must be sure of what you're doing. So the best to avoid getting too nervous, in my humble opinion, apart from being prepared is: don't take it personally, they are just doing their job.

Good luck, anyway. I'm sure that if your love is real, everything will be alright.
