Hi to all... Thank you for the response that i post here. It very helpful. On the 24th of this month my fiancee called the USCIS to check our status since its full three months and we never heard them and they said that day that they sent the RFI. Maybe he can get it tomorrow. I will ask if is RFI and RFE the same? And one more thing if my fiancee can gather the information they need and send it to them how many days or months after we will know the result since our petition is on hold this time? Can anybody help me with this?thank you so much.

Send USCIS whatever additional documents or information they are asking for so they can continue reviewing your application...do you know what they requested?

In my work with the US government an RFI meant Request for information. Not exactly the same as RFE. An RFE or RFI can set the case back 60 days or so but there is no way of really knowing.

In my case an RFE caused a 60 day delay on one occasion & the other took just two weeks. Once they get it they will forward it to the case officer who will then continue the case. The result should be case approved. If so you will be notified. If not you will get another RFI or RFE but probably not.
