I know that it says certificates are good for 6 months, but some are saying that the Accra embassy ask them to be only a month old, can anyone confirm this?

Also- have you recently requested them and how long did it take in Accra to get them?

I know they are now $40.00 (20 for the pictures and 20 for certificate, because they have to have the pictures taken at the police station).

Thanks for your help!

Midge knowing the embassy they will probably want it to be a day old. My husband asked for an updated recertification of his and was told they can only issue a new police report because people was making fake police certificate updates. I wouldn't worry to much into it I know you are just trying to be prepared but if anything he will just have to get a new one.

We havent gotten one yet- A few of us have been talking and trying to figure out when we should order them for the interview. If we can do it now or if we should wait until just about a month before.

After filling out a police report, he arrives at the embassy a little late, and they allow him in to speak to the CO, even though he has no valid ID. Thank God! Thanks Mr. K!!!

Do you know is the date on the certificate the day you request it or the day the print it?

So about 4 weeks before or 5 weeks is that okay??

Our report was dated a week after it was requested. That was because the person that took the application knew the interview date and made sure to date it within 30 days of interview. They probably held the application until it was within 30 days and then checked the police records.

If your fiancee goes more than 4 weeks before the interview, make sure he informs them of the interview date and get them to make sure it is dated within 30 days. I'm sure they'll ask him the interview date anyway; it seems like they try to take care of the applicants so they won't have to return. On another thread I said "Cha-ching" with regards to the police office, but all of them aren't like that.
