Chance of interview on the state side?

Has anyone asked to be intereviewed at a local office, versus flying off to another country, or is this even possible?

The reason I ask is that my fiancee is from Grand Cayman, but the embassy is in Jamacia. This would mean that we have to spend a full week from BOTH of our home countries in a hotel, and both fly there causing undue financial expenses in my opinion. Plus she is pregnant, and that would be one more risk for her. She is three months and been hospitalized twice already.

Anyone had any experience or thoughts on how we might be able to do this locally, either here or in the cayman islands?

My guess, andit is only a guess is that they wont let you have your interview anywhere except where you are supposed to have it. Their are alot of pregnancy issues etc that they have no mercy for. Since you have 6 months to go to the interview they figure you will figure it out during that time.

I wasn't thinking the pregnancy in and of itself would cause any help from anyone at USCIS.

BUT

I was hoping:

1. Since she has been sick, and could be at risk, that the doctors note about traveling would help.

2. Since Cayman Embassy is not in Cayman, but in Jamacia, that that would be undue hardship, as she will need to get a waiver to even travel there.

I doubt it. We had to fly to the consulate several times at $200 each, each trip.

They weren't very concerned with my travel costs. :)

Not the cost necessarily, I can understand them NOT caring about that, but the fact is that embassy is located NOT in her home country.

Honestly!!!

THEIR IS A 99 PERCENT CHANCE THAT YOU WILL HAVE TO GO TO THAT JAMAICA EMBASSY PERIOD. WHO WOULD YOU COMPLAIN TO?

ANYONE COULD SAY THE SAME THING YOU DID. JUST MAKE IT HAPPEN AND GET TO THAT EMBASSY. I AM SURE YOU WILL RECIEVE THIS SAME ADVICE FROM ANYONE THAT WOULD KNOW ABOUT THESE THINGS.

GOOD LUCK!!
