Hi everyone :)

Recently joined your extraordinary community and now its about time and patience *sigh x 10

I know tht on interview quite oftently officer asks wether you have seen your fiance(e) after sending the petition.

For those who hasnt, was it a problem, suspicious from their side tht all these months you were apart?

The reason I am asking is just because there is no option for us, as just wait untill the process gets complete, i live too far and on top of that wasnt approved for B2 recently, he doesnt have decent vacation time. We have much evidence of our relationship prior and obviously are in contact every day.

Good luck to all of you. Hopefully we ll see our beloved ones before we even notice that its about time :)

Welcome to VJ. Alla and I didn't go see each other after we met also and we didn't have a problem.

Why don't you move on over to the Russia-Ukraine-Belarus regional forum here on VJ. You'll get more RUB-specific info and maybe meet a bunch of new friends. We're all friendly down there.

Not a problem. We have personally choose not to go to visit one another, whilst the K-1 is in process, for two reasons.

1) Purely financial. We have chosen to save for our future together. I am self employed, so whilst i am on vacation i am earning no money. It makes more sense for me to get my finances sorted here, before the big move.

2) If we went to see one another again, we would have to be parted again. For us, this is too heartbreaking to endure. The next time we travel see one another, we want it to be with a K-1 visa in my Passport.

Welcome to the forum, Milushka.

I didn't meet with my wife again after our initial meeting and we had no problems. It's not required. Only one meeting within the last two years is required to file. As long as you meet that, you'll be fine.

Just from the level of English you're typing, I can tell you you're going to have no problems with the interview process. Don't worry. Just be patient. And stop by here with more questions... we're here to help!

Welcome Milushka,

You may have many more questions which you will find good answers to right here in the RUB. Mostly you will need patience while the process works its way through our bureaucracy. From your note it sounds like your fiance has a typical American job, not much vacation time. Get use to that, it is a big complaint by my wife. We have many members that can assist with advice or explanation and you will find we have a lot of fun in the RUB.

So again, welcome.

My wife is on vacation right now.... as I stay home and work. Just part of it.

Just got approved the other day, and we hadn't seen each other in 2 years. The consulate was shocked we waited so long, but as long as you have evidence that you met and communicate a lot, there are no problems.

Thank you for your reply. Right words about being patient, heh in Russia we have related saying: easy to say hard to do ©. But you gotta do what you gotta do :)

It is really great source, glad to find it. Afterall the whole process doesnt seem to be as complex as before. I used to work in Europe and US before. Still remember being surprised to find the differences regarding vacation time, but then got used to idea as the rest of working americans.

I didn't see my then fiance for 8 months- from start to finish- and it was never a problem visa-wise. good luck

thank you for sharing ,)

Congrats !!!! 2 years being apart, wow, that must hurt. But believe it is great feeling after the way is walked. All the best !
