Hello All,

I am puzzled about something: my wife received two letters for biometrics appointments for her I-485 petition. One NOA indicates our appointment is set for Thursday afternoon, another indicates our appointment is set for Friday afternoon. I wanted to know what is going on, so I first attempted to access her record online. Can't do that, the response from uscis.gov is "Status for this Receipt Number cannot be found at this time in this automated system..." So then I called the number given on the appointment notices, and the operator there supposedly transferred me to an immigration officer. We waited on the phone for about 50 minutes until I gave up. Does anyone have any other suggestions on finding out when our biometrics appointment is really supposed to be? Thank You.

Just attend the thursday appointment and bring the two notices for biometrics and show/inform it to the counter where u supposed to fill-up some forms, mention that you received 2 notice receipts for biometrics, she will explain it. And don't forget to bring her passport & marriage certificate, if she's using ur last name after you got married.

gudluck!

1 appointment is for your AOS biometrics the other is for your EAD biometrics... take both appointment letters to your 1st appointment and they may do both on the same day....

Kezzie

Ah, so you get a biometrics appt for both AOS and EAD, even if you didn't submit an I-765 (as in our case)?

I think that their system is producing duplicate appointments. This also happened to me, I’ve got two appointments for the same day with different time scheduled and the letters were identical (both for AOS and EAD). So I don’t think you’ve got one for AOS and other for EAD, as you are saying you did not apply for it. You must have received both letters for AOS, if you look on the right top of the document or at the bottom where there’s a code bar you will see to which application this biometrics is intended for.
