your not rejected, you just have to wait in line until a visa is available. you now have to check every month the visa bulletin.

is your mother a resident or us citizen? where do you live and what country are you from? how old are you, married or not? it will depend on the information to know how long you have to wait.

You are in the 1st category; they are currently working on applications from January 2006, so about a 4 year wait. Same for your sister, though if she is married, she'll fall into the third category, where they are currently working on applications from March 2002, so she'd need to wait about 8 years for a visa to become available.

Yes I am sure; just look at the website yourself, I linked to it.

Be happy you are from Jamaica; if you were from Mexico, you could be waiting 18 years.

yep,

ditto to what the other have said, there is no waiting period when children of a USC are minors. but when they are over 21, it takes several years.

sometimes they don't even know what they're talking about. unless you haven't had your i130 approved. has the 130 been approved? if not the i130 can go fast, but then USCIS sends the i130 to NVC, where it will be filed until your priority date becomes current.

check the visa bulletin for november, for next month, the first prefence for unmarried children over 21 of a USC is on February 15, 2006, your priority date is or will be in 2010, so as you can see, for the time being it takse more than 4 years.

I agree.

I had to wait 5 1/2 years, so the waiting has come down a little bit. I adjusted in country under the 245i. My USC mom filed for me, I was also in the 1st preference. She filed for me in Oct, 1999, and I had my interview in January 2005. In July of this year I had my oath ceremony and became a USC. time flys.

take care
