Wow.... Just wow.... The Democrats are becoming such a huge joke...

This was offered in part of this e-mail:

Paul --

In the last two years, it's been supporters like you who've redefined what it means to be a Democrat.

There's a renewed commitment toward organizing -- which you helped instill with the campaign in 2008. That's why Democrats have launched the most ambitious voter-turnout effort we've ever seen for an election like the one this fall.

There's a renewed commitment toward taking on the special interests and opposing their agenda -- a promise you've helped us keep time and time again. And even though we don't take money from lobbyists or corporate PACs, we're still raising more money than the Republicans, month after month.

With this renewed focus, the Democrats have introduced a new website filled with innovations to better connect supporters with candidates, state parties, and each other -- and a new look to match that message.

With just weeks to go in a critical election season, we want to help show that moving this country forward is a commitment shared by Americans across the states.

So we're giving away thousands of free stickers to help people show their support. Can we send you one?

Get your free sticker.

It's what you helped build that laid the groundwork for this new commitment for our party. And together, we've spent the last year and a half building a new foundation for our country.

Everything Democrats have accomplished -- from reforming a broken health care system to reining in the Wall Street banks that were out of control -- has been because of you.

It's something to be proud of. And I hope you'll take advantage of this opportunity to put that pride on display.

It is true the Dems are becoming a joke. But it surprises me that this is a surprise to some. It has happened before. Early 1980's until about 1992 when it was embarrassing to say you were a Democrat, the "solid south" completely RAN from the party and even Minnesota voted for Reagan. Then the first Gulf War ended and the wheels ran off for George Bush I and Clinton gets elected because Perot split the Republican vote. Then it was embarassing to be a Republican, more and more so under George Bush II, and then Obama gets elected and throws the Dems under the bus even faster than Carter did. The Soveits liked Carter anyway, the USSR would have ended in 1979 were it not for Carter.

It takes people like Carter to make Presidents like Reagan. It will take Obama 4 years to grease the skids for the Republicans, then it will switch again...and my guess is (just a wild guess) that the Dems will take over again. In the meantime the Repubs will feed on whatever they can and give it to their favorite issues until the Dems come raoring back and give our money to THEIR favorite issues.

When the PEOPLE get fed up with the political parties, THEN we will get some "government" (which shouldn't be a bad word, but is) Until then, it will jst be one joke after another.

I keep telling everyone the same thing but you are talking to a wall and nobody understands.

The best part is that when they were talking change I said that this is not change but reverting to same old stuff tried before. Nobody cared. My guess is that nobody reads history and/or very stupid.

Either that or the average age of this country is 19 and we are VERY OLD. After a few years out of style, the same old politicians can offer the same old BS and call it "change" and the voters eat it like pablum. They all walk around in a trance, chanting "Change...change...change" Then after a few years they all decide to vote for those other guys because THEY will change it...and, hey, where did they come from and why weren't they here before?

I actually remember when the Soviets put a combat Brigade in Cuba in early 1979 and Carter went ape-sh*t over it. Brezhnev told him to calm down, they were only there for training. but that wasn't good enough for TOUGH ol' Jimmy Carter. NO! He demanded they LEAVE. Brezhnev says "no". Carter says he is going on TV to announce that "this is unacceptable" and Brezhnev sends word through Gromyko "Jimmy...say what you want, OK? We won't contradict you" Carter announced that the Soviets had withdrawn from Cuba. They hadn't. Carter knew he was lying. Brezhnev knew Carter was a p*ssy. Brezhnev told his friends in Iran. His friends overthrew the Shah and took American citizens hostage for all to see what a p*ssy Carter was (Iran was not as subtle as the Soviets)....and then Brezhnev invaded Afghanistan knowing Carter would do nothing about it. Except tell our athletes they couldn't go to the Summer Olympics in Moscow and forfeited all the gold medals to the Soviets which helped the Afghans to ...what? Good thing we didn't re-elect Gerald Ford and the evil Republicans, eh? Change you can believe in! Oh yeah, and Carter was actually going to reduce foreign dependence on oil and instead banned the construction of new nuclear power plants (and he is a nuclear engineer), there was a "gas crisis" during his administration, unemployment and inflation peaked out at levels never seen before or since, and he never did introduce universal health care like he said he would. But he did get a peace treaty in the middle east, thank Goodness for that so there is no more war in THAT region of the world at least. And he reduced our speed limit to 55 mph which triggered global warming (it was actually global COOLING until 1976, I guess Carter fixed the global cooling problem) Phew.

History is so boring.

why does ANYONE still buy into this BS?

and THEN, the WORST thing Carter ever caused happened...

Ted Koppel got a show called "nightline" which began by counting the days the hostages had been held in Iran. Thanks for the change Jimmy.
