Bethanis, so very sorry to read this, as if you have not gone through enough already, this is unbelievable.

makes one feel quite scared for their own interview and the things that can happen after :o

I hope that things get sorted quickly for you both

:) Thanks munchkins. Feel I have to keep this posted, because it just isn't the norm for London. As if our delay with a cosponsor wasn't bad enough, then a couple of RFE's, then the odd delay to get an interview, and now this. Seems to be a never ending cycle for us. It is becoming difficult to be patient, nothing we can do but wait. It has been three working days already since Tim emailed the embassy, still no reply. He is going to call the delivery company today after each scheduled pickup to see if possibly it is in there. I also emailed the embassy again last night, figure that way if they don't give us the answer we want on the first email we are ahead of the game with a second email. Suppose I can call DOS again today as well, can't hurt to try.

They do warn not to make travel plans before the visa is received. We had the same problem. We had allowed for about 2 weeks after the interview and already had tickets. We rescheduled multiple times at great expense and I still ended up coming back without her when my vacation time ran out. She finally got the visa a few days after I left and we rebooked her flight again.

Bethanie, again I am sorry to see this, is there no end to what you two have to do to be together.

Sending you loads of MOJO hope that they get it processed quickly now. all fingers crossed for you

I know the feeling by the way, we have been in the same boat with RFE's and a stupid mistake which was not on our or our daughter's part ;) And now I am playing the waiting game again ;) and checking the dhl site everyday to see if they have sent anything to London yet. ;)

Bethanie,

This must be so frustrating for you!

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they finish the processing soon--like yesterday!

Yes thanks, we were aware of the "don't make any plans" thing. We were also told we were approved and allowed three weeks for travel time. Word of advice for others don't believe what you are told, don't make any plans for your future it only makes it more difficult when nothing happens as it was supposed to. At this stage of the game you have no answers except WAIT.

Called DOS again this afternoon. Spoke with a lovely gentleman who turned out to be very helpful. At first he gave me the same song and dance I have been getting, only he added it is going through a standard name check. I ask how long this normally takes or if he could even give me an estimate. He ask me if I could please hold which I agreed to.

He came back a few minutes later to say that they are processing the case and that is all he knew. The usual sinking feeling set in and I said, I know you are getting ready to go home have a good evening. He stopped me with whoooooa wait a minute, the reason I put you on hold is because I have never seen anything like this in London and I was very unsure of what it was. I went on that I agreed and knew it wasn't typical for London, and that we were down to the wire on his employment and flight arrangements and just did not know what else to do. I then ask him if I should continue to call each day, and he said oh no no no London is issuing the visa they are finishing it up and you should hear from them by the end of the week. Well this has made me feel better though still skeptical, and now wondering why someone could not have told us this last week! Perhaps the senator got through today. :) So hoping and praying what this one sais is the truth and my darling husband will be home next Friday.

Ya know I told the man on the phone today, had we filed in some other region I could have expected this. Fact is we didn't and it is an odd thing coming from London. Maybe it is just a one off, or could be a trend we see more of out of London and other embassies like it. My rational mind (if I have one left after this process) tells me this is partly due to all that has taken place in the last couple of weeks, and things are a bit tighter on the security end there. Maybe the length of our case tossed up a red flag, or as I noted before the fact he wasn't travelling for three weeks might of given them the opportunity to meet some quota of doing extra checks. I don't know what it was and likely never will, and can only speculate it would just be nice to have a definitive answer.

We all have this underlying fear through this journey, that someone else has our lives in their grip and we will not succeed at what we set out to do. Let me say even after hearing "APPROVED" in my Timoffy's voice that fear continues for me. Nothing is a given in this process, and the only time we can ever feel truly secure is when he gets his citizenship a few years from now.

You are right once that visa is in his hands and he lands at our local airport most of this will be quickly forgotten. Looking forward to that day just like everyone else on here.

Bethanie

Sorry to hear about the delay.

We are in the same boat although we are K3 and going through a different embassy. My visa was approved on August 15th and I was told it would take 4-5 business days to process it. When I called today, the consular assistant told me that they are waiting to hear from Washington and cannot tell me when I can have my visa  . I don't know what they are waiting for from Washington, but it definitely makes me worry...

Hope you get your visa soon (F) Good luck!
